Description
This is just like the idyllic cottage from the Hollywood movie "The Holiday" - in fact, it's better, and it's the real thing! Built over 100 years ago from iconic Cotswold stone & renovated to the very highest standard, with traditional features such as beams, wood floors and a roaring log fire. It lovely garden has views over the countryside. Take the dog for walks, visit picturesque pubs, explore some of England's oldest towns - no better place to explore the beautiful Cotswolds. The space This delightful Cotswold countryside cottage is nestled behind other cottages. It's accessed via a gated path which leads you to a beautifully maintained cottage garden. There's a patio with garden furniture, a wood burning chiminea and vegetable patch. There's even a disused well, and it's totally secure for family dogs. Inside on the ground floor, the charm of a traditional cottage stone, wood-floored building radiates from every nook and cranny. There's an entrance hall and cosy living room which is home to a lovely wood-burner. The kitchen was recently beautifully renovated in keeping with the property, and leads down into a lovely dining/social area that opens out via French doors onto the patio area. There's a downstairs toilet and walk in shower, and the utility room is a great place to leave your wellies, coats or use the washing machine. Upstairs are two good sized bedrooms and a bathroom with bath (and shower over) and toilet. This is a dog friendly property. We happily welcome up to 2 small, well-behaved dogs for a small fee, but do ask that they remain downstairs. We provide a freestanding stairgate to help. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the entire property. Other things to note Please note, due to the age and rustic nature of the cottage, there are uneven floors and it's not possible to fit a stairgate. For this reason, the cottage isn't suitable for small children. There are also several steps down to the garden from the parking space. This, along with the uneven floors, may be a real challenge for anyone with mobility issues, or unable to carry luggage down steps unassisted. Many thanks for your understanding - we want everyone to have a safe and happy stay.
