In ground pool for seasonal use. Turtles, frogs, snakes, salamanders, birds abound. And Bald Eagles soar~This is it! The space Our property is amazing in its offering of flora and fauna. It's like a natural park. We have about 6” of snow covering the earth and it’s beautiful to play outdoors, hike, sled or sit by the fire pit. As we have a country home on a country gravel, shared driveway, you will need to have AWD or 4WD vehicle for traveling in unexpected Vermont winter weather. We were blessed with snow for Thanksgiving and have about 6” presently providing a nice base for hiking and playing in the snow. Killington is open for skiing and Quechee will be opening Dec. 20th, weather permitting on weekends and some holiday dates. See their website for details. Quechee offers downhill skiing, rentals and has groomed Nordic skiing around the golf course and Lake Pineo for a small daily fee. We have visits from all kinds of wildlife, raptors, birds, amphibians... We are a Certified Monarch Way Station and treat our environment organically and tend to our ecosystem with care, love and respect. Chipmunks reside in the stick piles we create as habitat for them and scurry about your path as you walk or relax. Our home is extremely comfortable with many common use rooms to allow for guests to spread out while indoors and enjoy different activities. The first floor enters into a large Dining room with a table that easily sits 8. A sliding door to the rear brick patio offering a BBQ, fire pit, hot tub, gardens and views to the forest and mountains to the North. The well equipped kitchen offers a spacious island counter with stools, large window with view to rear patio and a sitting area, (where everyone likes to hang out while the chefs are cooking in the kitchen). It offers a large window view toward the hills and cliff walls on the other side of the lake. It is well equipped with a drip coffee pot with reusable filter, French press or Keurig machines. A Donvier Ice Cream maker awaits your family creative fun and blender for smoothies. The bright and airy private master bedroom suite is off of the living room offering a full bathroom with a shower, walk in closet and queen size bed. There is a fire TV in the master bedroom which we can relocate to another room if requested. The fireplace is beautiful, however, not to be used due to insurance limitations. The second floor opens up to a large and comfortable skylit family room which offers a lot of options for game playing, puzzling, watching television or just visiting. The smart TV is 55” . We have a lot of games and puzzles and books for all ages for you to enjoy during your stay. Off the other side of the second floor living room is a large and comfortable bedroom with a 1/2 bath, queen size bed and a pair of antique danish children’s beds. It’s bright and spacious with a skylight and windows to the north overlooking the pool and forest beyond. The outdoor area surrounding the main house offers an incredible variety of space to play, build a snow man or two, sled, snowshoe or hike. Or, relax and read in a quiet space listening to the flowing brook and waterfalls in the forest below. Not to mention the outdoor, in ground pool for seasonal use, Memorial Day through Labor Day. You can still drive in to the ranger station on weekdays and walk the dam headway, down to the lake and hiking trails to view Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons and other birds. They lock the gate at 3:30 on weekdays and it’s closed on weekends post Labor Day until Memorial Day. Incredible night sky views of the stars and fireflies can be enjoyed from the back patio hot tub while the fire pit will warm your conversation and friendship. There is a propane BBQ set up on the back patio by the fire pit and hot tub to enjoy alfresco dining at the outdoor table followed by s’mores at the fire pit. . The bald eagles have been soaring and the views are stunning on the property and surrounding forest. Guest access We are very excited to offer our home as a vacation spot for you! It is idyllic, peaceful, natural and spacious inside and out. We have lived here for 16 years and love this setting. The house is very comfortable, providing ease to enjoy the outside environs our beautiful area has to offer. We offer you 4 bedrooms with 6 beds to enjoy privately. As well as the Kitchen, Dining Room and two Living Rooms. Guests have use of the front stone patio and the rear brick courtyard with fire pit and hot tub. Both settings offer views of the outdoor, in ground seasonal pool, unheated, which is for the sole use of the guests. The owner/managers have locked out one upstairs room, the basement and garage, which are solely for their use for maintenance & storage. They live on the property in a separate house set privately, a good distance away, and are about to maintain & care for the hot tub and grounds. We value your privacy and will do necessary maintenance so as not to interfere with your vacation. This is NOT a party house. We ask that only the renting party uses the space in a responsible and respectful manner. We live on a single lane, shared driveway, with two other quiet residences and ask that you help maintain that during your visit. The owners cottage, surrounding yard area and barn are private for the sole use of the owners and do have security systems and cameras on them.
