Old Houses - Casa da Taipa
Old Houses - Casa da Taipa
Description
On Monte do Beringelinho, an isolated hamlet in the middle of the Alentejo plain, Casa da Taipa was the home of the owners of the old Beringelinho tavern. The house Casa da Taipa was completely remodelled, trying to preserve the original rusticity of Alentejo houses, adding the comfort provided by current materials, equipment and construction methods. The rammed earth wall that adorns the kitchen is a good example of this. The space The house has a small kitchen at the entrance, followed by the living room that connects to the bedroom and bathroom. The hydraulic mosaics used in the bedroom, the kitchen, the bathroom and the living room were used from the original house. The entire floor is made of screed (burnt cement), a construction method widely used in Alentejo houses from the last century. The living room has access to an outdoor terrace, a space shared with Casa da Taberna, where you can store bicycles, have barbecues or eat outside. Guest access The house is located 15 km from Castro Verde and 29 km from Almodôvar. Access is via a tarmac road (note that the last section Sta. Bárbara - Beringelinho has a single lane). The house is fully accessible to guests, as is the outdoor patio, access to which is shared exclusively with guests of Casa da Taberna. The house does not have any steps so it is suitable for people with reduced mobility (the bathroom does not allow wheelchair). Registration Details 156081/AL
