The Retreat Juniper Tent/Van sites sit at the base of Green's Mountain nestled among the Junipers and Pinion pines. You will stay just outside the entrance to the City of Rocks National Reserve off the road that connects it to Castle Rocks State Park. Enjoy all the fun of camping under the stars with an amazing secluded location at the entrance to the City of Rocks. Enjoy Rock Climbing, Bouldering, Hiking, Biking, Fishing, and Hot Springs, all within a 5 minute drive! NO MUSIC! QUIET HOUR 10PM The space Tent/Van Site 10 has a 20 foot circular tent pad. It includes a picnic table, fire pit, and access to the nearby bathrooms, garbage, water, and outdoor private shower (May-Oct). 15amp plugin is next to the tent pad. Parking is available right next to your camp. A rustic double outhouse (pit privy) is located a short walk behind the site for bathroom use. It is clean and well ventilated. Tissue paper is provided. 2 adults and 4 children are included in the cost. The Park is full all summer but you will have your own quiet base camp 2 minutes away. Sit around the fire pit at night and gaze at the amazing star filled sky. Sites 8, 9, and 10 are all in the same private forested area and great for groups but still separated for plenty of privacy. Each site has a level tent pad, parking area for a car or van (car/van camping ok), and access to potable water, bathrooms, and garbage. We have now added a 15amp plug to each site to provide power for things like phone and laptop charging, air pump, medical devices, or other basics at no charge. Camper vans, or other vehicles that want to plug in to the power will need to pay an additional $10 electric fee. No EV charging. Parking is allowed right at camp but no vehicles bigger than a van (20ft), and no trailers. No mosquitos here! PET FRIENDLY! This is a dark sky and quiet hours campsite. NO MUSIC OR PARTYING ALLOWED! Quiet hours are 10pm-7am. Guest access The parking area and directly around the site is your private area including the fire pit and picnic area. The outhouse is shared with sites 8 and 9 and is yours to use. Site 10 is in and to the far right of the entrance. Drive up to the site.(See directions) Other things to note 1. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 7 am. No loud music or parties. Car camping is allowed if you aren't using a tent but additional adults must pay a $5/person/night fee. 4 adults total. 2. Camper trailers are not allowed as there is no room for parking or turning around. See our RV spots nearby at cityofrocksrv 3. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash and never left unaccompanied. 4. Clean up after your pet and discard trash in bins near the bathrooms. 5. Please stay in your own camp area except for bathroom or garbage runs. Hiking up the hill is not allowed as there is a private construction site that isn't safe. 6. Fires must be kept small and fit inside the firepit with the lid on to prevent sparks. Firewood is available just across the road 24/7 self serve. Please don't harm trees or vegetation. 7. Outdoor shower is yours to use. Please follow the rules on the outside of shower. Shower is available roughly May-Oct but removed when it starts freezing at night.
