Description
A beautiful, private superking double or twin bedroom with en-suite shower room, wifi and tv with uninterrupted rural views. Situated in a 1790s detached Cornish character cottage with garden by little river in a rural hamlet. Off road parking. Use of sitting room with Inglenook fireplace until 9.30pm on request. Near Boscastle, #Tintagel, Port Isaac ( #Doc Martin) and sandy North Cornwall beaches. Pub 1 mile. Peaceful, occasional tractor/local car. Breakfast basket on request. The space The newly decorated, private, sunny, double or twin bedroom is situated in a detached 1790s Cornish cottage, and has a south west facing window with uninterrupted garden and countryside/woodland views. There is a large kingsize double bed 6ft wide (or two 3ft wide single beds). There is a small wardrobe and tea and ground coffee making facilities with biscuits in the room. Fresh milk is provided. The en-suite shower room has a modern shower, loo and basin. There is a mirror with lighting, cabinet, de-mister and shaver/toothbrush charger. There is a large heated towel rail and window. Bed linen and towels provided. Open plan cosy sitting room with beams, Inglenook fireplace, log burner, sofas and tv can be used until 9.30pm on request. There is use of microwave, kettle, toaster, small fridge. I will do all washing up. A pre-packed continental breakfast basket can be requested £8 per person. Guest access For access to the cottage there are 5 outside slate steps down from the parking area to the porch/front door. Inside the cottage there are 11 steps up from the ground floor to the bedroom (including 3 inside the bedroom). The bedroom and en-suite shower room are available for your private use. The low ceilinged sitting room with beams and inglenook fireplace, log burner and old cloam oven is available for use on request. In particular, it is a great place to relax with a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits when you arrive, to read in or play board games etc. The private lawned garden by a little river is available to relax in with a glass of wine on sunny days. During your stay I live in the cottage, but have my own sitting area/kitchen and will keep my distance unless you need me. I occasionally walk up stairs via the sitting room. Use of microwave, kettle and small fridge. I will do all washing up. I can answer any questions and can provide guidance on good nearby moorland walks on Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, and nearby pubs and restaurants. There are good nearby local beaches for swimming and surfing, including Trebarwith Strand near Tintagel, Crackington Haven, Polzeath and Daymer Bay. The old fishing/smugglers villages of Boscastle, Port Isaac, Padstow are also a short drive away Other things to note The popular local Wilsey Down pub 1 mile away has good pub food. In particular, Sunday Roasts are very popular and they have all you can eat breakfasts on Saturday morning. The Rising Sun pub about 15 mins drive away, near the beautiful village of Altarnun, is a lovely smart pub/ restaurant with good food open Wed to Sat and Sun lunch. The Port William pub at Trebarwith Strand, near Tintagel has a great atmosphere with superb cliff top sea views and atmosphere and good food. The Eliot Arms at Tregadillett about 15 mins drive towards Launceston is a beautiful pub full of character and good food. Good farm shops/restaurants near by are Hill Top Farm shop near Camelford and Boscastle farm shop and Tintagel Brewery Bar and Bistro. The nearest small supermarket with late hours is the Co-Op at Camelford (15 mins drive). Launceston is 20 min drive away and has a late opening large Tesco and a M&S food, Lidl and other shops. Bude is 20 mins drive. Altarnun is a pretty village with lovely church and good little village shop/ post office mornings Mon-Saturday. Also a little cafe.
