Spacious Craftsman close to Lake Shelbyville

We have loved hosting so many families and friends groups, but our Holiday house is soon to be no longer our home. A beautiful young family is buying as their permanent home, and we couldn’t be happier for them. We will miss hosting, but we know this is the best route for us. Thank you, thank you, all of our guests. The space Our house has five bedrooms plus nursery and three bathrooms. The main floor features one bedroom and full bath, two playrooms, spacious living and dining, and a full but older kitchen. Washer and dryer are on the main floor. One playroom has toys for younger kids, the other has a Wii and a foosball table. The back yard features a patio with a small gas grill. (Propane not guaranteed) Both entrances do have 3-4 steps to get into the house. Upstairs the two kids rooms, both with twin beds, share a Jack-n-Jill bathroom with a tub only. The king and queen bedrooms both have entryways into the nursery. The main bathroom with a shower is in the hallway. Please keep in mind this is very much our second home. I understand more and more Airbnb listings are entirely dedicated to short term rentals, so if you prefer more of a hotel type stay this might not be the right booking for you. As a large family ourselves that can have dificulty finding places to stay, we thought listing our home might be helpful to those in similiar situations. This house is new to us, and while we have updated the unseens (electric, plumbing, a/c), the house itself is not updated. Bathrooms and kitchen are fully functional but dated. Guest access Full access to the whole house and backyard. Basement is just a storm cellar. Private parking with carport is available around back, accessed by the alley. Street parking is available for any overflow or oversized vehicles/boats. Other things to note The house is 100 years old, so while it has old house character, it also has old house quirks. Not all bedrooms have closets, and the bathrooms are not updated. It’s also brand new to us, so please let us know if anything seems unusual. Air conditioning is a combination of (newly installed) central air upstairs and window units downstairs. Heat is hot water radiators. They can take a while to heat up, but even longer to cool down, and unfortunately seem to get much warmer in the upstairs bedrooms. A fireplace insert is used for main floor additional heat if you want to keep the bedrooms cooler. We only recently returned to Illinois. We lived in Colorado for the last 10 years, but spent every Christmas in Shelbyville, hence the "Christmas House" nickname. While the house can accomodate 9, this does include children's rooms. It is probably only comfortable for 6 adults.
