Description
You won't find anything else like this in Wheeling! Located on an up-and-coming street in the eclectic, vibrant and very walkable Centre Market district. This exquisitely renovated rowhouse balances charm and character with swanky, modern, livable style. Walk to festivals, eateries, bars, wineries, shops, etc. Easy access to highways. Abundant free on-street parking. There's a fenced back yard which is shared with the adjoining rowhouse. Enjoy the firepit, the patio or relax on the deck. The space This completely renovated 1897 red brick rowhouse has 10 foot ceilings, massive windows, including a beautiful original stained glass piece, and a stylish, airy vibe. There is one full bathroom and one bedroom with a queen size bed on the first floor. The walkthrough closet off the first floor bedroom has access to the backyard, a comfortable office chair and a desk. Upstairs you’ll find two more beautiful bedrooms, one of which has handmade tile on the fireplace, and enormous windows, the other has lots of gorgeous exposed brick and a unique original fireplace. There’s also a full bathroom with gorgeous tile, a swanky chandelier, and an original clawfoot tub. The laundry is inside the second floor bathroom, and has a convenient butcher block counter for folding. The backyard includes a composite deck with a loveseat, coffee table, two chairs and a sail shade, a paver patio with two chaises and a fire pit (chimenea). It’s perfect for relaxing on nice days. There’s also a propane griddle grill just off the deck. It is completely fenced and shared only with the attached rowhouse. Note that this is not a quiet neighborhood. It’s busy and it’s transitional, meaning some houses have been rehabbed and some have not. There’s construction and building demolitions happening nearby in a city wide revitalization. I’ve lived in the neighborhood for several years and I really love it and its quirkiness. Guest access You’ll have full house and backyard access. Other things to note This is a transitional neighborhood and not a quiet one. It’s very old, with some houses dating back to before West Virginia was a state. Some houses have been rehabbed, some have not. The old brick walls are thick and it’s not too difficult to drown out any noise, but there is construction and demolition of some structures nearby in a massive city wide revitalization effort. You’ll likely hear people and cars as well. I’ve lived in the neighborhood for several years and I really love it. I do not find it difficult to enjoy my time there inside or outside, but everyone’s sensitivity levels are different. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions.
