A unique historical home, centrally located in Lærdal. The position is ideal for exploring the Sognefjord area. Within a short drive: Borgund stave church, the old King's Road, several splendid hiking possibilities, Aurlandsfjellet (Naional Scenic Route), and more. Within 1 hour drive: Gudvangen, Flåm, Aurland, Årdal, Kaupanger, Sogndal Within 2 hour drive: Balestrand, Fjærland, Solvorn, Gaupne, Luster, the national parks of Jotunheimen and Jostedalsbreen, Urnes, Sognefjell and more. The space This is a privately owned, second home. The house is old, from approximately 1880. A traditional merchant's house made of timber, with a paneled exterior in classic Empire style. Please note that the old houses of this area traditionally have no hallways. Passage goes from room to room. (See plan drawings) On the second floor passage to Bedroom 2 is either via Bath 2 and Study, or via Bedroom 1. We recommend the first option, and that Bedroom 1 uses "Bath 1" on the first floor. Old houses have a lovely "soul", and also require a little patience and consideration. Please fasten windows with a hasp when venting, otherwise they can be damaged in a sudden gust of wind. Please also treat kitchen utensils mindfully, and wash sharp knives, wooden objects and iron pans by hand (not in dishwasher). It is nice to rent out the house for a few weeks in the summer. Rental income is taxed 22% by the municipality, and surplus beyond this contributes to necessary maintenance. We feel the house has a good atmosphere and hope you experience the same, and have a wonderful stay both in the house and in Lærdal! Second floor: Bedroom 1 and 2, Study, bath 2, balcony. Outdoor shed: In the shed there are various things that can be used. Great though if things are placed back where they were. Here is outdoor furniture, cushions, croquet games, a grill, and life jackets, canoe and bicycles which can be used at your own risk.
