Escape into our tranquil Orchard Retreat in a rural Essex Village. This is a self contained annexe with a charming cozy feel. This home is perfect for relaxation and exploration of the surrounding areas. Ideal for couples or solo travellers looking for a peaceful getaway. There are local supermarkets, plenty of takeaways & a couple of pubs within a 5 minute drive in nearby Tiptree. Also 15 min drive from Kelvedon station, with trains to London. There are some lovely walks on the door step. The space The property accommodates up to 4 guests. 🛌 The main bedroom contains a double bed for up to 2 guests. For bookings of 3 or 4 guests, or for 2 guests where separate sleeping arrangements are required, a pull-down double sofa bed is available in the lounge area and must be requested when booking. This will be made up for you in advance. There is a charge of £10 per night per person for the use of the sofa bed. 🛏️ Comfortable double bedroom with bedside cabinets. There is a fan / dimmer light above the bed. To use the fan, please switch on the light switch. Fan / ceiling light operating instructions are in the bedside cabinet. Towels/bedlinen (bed made up prior to arrival). 🛋️ The sofa bed is prepared by the host and is subject to an additional charge of £10 per person per night. To prevent damage to the furniture and flooring, guests must not assemble, move or use the sofa bed themselves. If you require the sofa bed, please ensure you book for the correct number of guests and let us know in advance so it can be prepared for your arrival. 🧑‍🍳 The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, etc. There is also a microwave with a convection oven and grill. Please note - there is no hob. ☕️🫖 🥛 Milk, tea, hot chocolate, coffee and cereals will also be there for you to enjoy. There is an iron, ironing board, travel cot and hairdryer. 🚿 Lovely shower room with use of toiletries. The lounge area has a Smart TV and there is also free Wi-Fi. Guest access Parking - There is a free parking space for you on the driveway. Lockbox - There is a lockbox for self check in to Orchard Retreat. Orchard Retreat Garden - The orchard garden is for your use during your stay. This is found on your left as you come through the large gates. There is a small gate through to the garden, please close this behind you. There is a gazebo you can sit in, a garden swing or a picnic blanket is supplied. This is a nice quiet spot to listen to the bird song. Other things to note Our Pets - We share our home with our friendly cockapoo Nala, who you may encounter in the garden. We also have three beautiful cats, Nigel, Simba and Rosie. Gardens - There is a garden which spans the back of the main house and Orchard Retreat. This is our garden and at times we may be using it. There is a seperate gated garden for your use, where you can sit and relax in the gazebo or the swing seat. Please keep this gate shut at all times, as it a dog free zone. Location & nearby places of interest - We are perfectly located for anyone wanting to visit The Monastery of St John the Baptist (just a 10 minute walk), Tiptree Jam Factory with it's tea rooms and museum, Abberton Reservoir, Layer Marney Towers, Mersea Island, Maldon and the Historic City of Colchester. We are also in close proximity to Constable Country. We are also nearby to the Wedding Venues of Layer Marney Towers, East Mersea Hall, Vaulty Manor and Braxted Park.
