River Breeze Cottage

Relax while looking out over the La Have River, without sacrificing the comfort of having nearby grocery stores, cafes, beaches, and restaurants. The space This newly built, modern cottage has an open concept and very intentional design. The wooden interior and large windows with views of the river tie into the surrounding outdoors spaces of the property, which provides a home to various tree and other plant species. The cottage is ideally meant for a couple, a maximum of four adults, or a family of five with up to three children/teenagers. The master bedroom has a king size bed, but is not acoustically separate from the remainder of the cottage. The remaining two beds are a small double and a single bed - located in the loft above the living area. It is approximately 2.5m (8.02') high and has a small metal railing in place (30cm/1') - therefore not suitable for very young children or those children with lots of playful energy (due to safety reasons). BACK PATIO: *Please note: the construction company laying the stones is delayed, and thus the back patio is not completely finished. The patio is still completely available and functional for use. The cable railing on the patio has just recently been finished. There is a glass dining table and six patio chairs for guest use along with a gas barbecue. OUTDOOR SPACE: There is plenty of outdoor space in front of the cottage to play badminton, washer-toss, soccer, etc. on the fine gravel driveway. WATER/RIVER ACCESS: We have decided to open up access to the river for those looking to bring their kayaks or a stand up paddle board. However, we have no experience with the river currents or tides, so guests should know their own limits and are entering the water at their own risk. SURROUNDING AREAS: Our little piece of paradise is located just a 10 minute drive from the town of Bridgewater, which has grocery stores, cafes, and restaurants. When driving further towards the coast, you are also just a short drive away from some of the beautiful spots along the south shore: - Approximately 15-20min to Rissers Beach Provincial Park & Crescent Beach - 10min to LaHave Bakery - 15min to Ploughman's Lunch - Less than 30min to UNESCO sites of Mahone Bay & Lunenburg This part of Nova Scotia has lots to offer including nearby biking trails, hiking trails, kayaking opportunities, beaches, and discovering local artisans (pottery, jewellery, artwork, and more). We're happy to provide you with some suggestions or tips! Guest access Guests are free to use the entire cottage and patio throughout their stay. The kitchen has cooking essential including olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and some spices. There is a smart TV for entertainment and various board games, as well as some outdoor games such as washer toss and badminton guests can enjoy. Other things to note The cottage has one main bedroom with a king size bed. Please note the slanted, wooden panelling near the ceiling in this room provides some privacy, but sound carries into the rest of the cottage. It is not acoustically private. The beds in the loft are accessible via a step ladder. One is a double size mattress, while the other is a twin mattress.
