This island with its cottages is an authentic Finnish summer home that is easy to reach. The island has a small, half-acre grove type forest and is located close to the mainland. The guest cottage has one small room, a kitchenette, a refrigerator, and a sauna. The red hostess's cottage is for me and my family. There are no other residents on the island. We go to the island by an old Finnish wooden rowing boat. If you enjoy nature and its diversity, peace and quite, you will enjoy your stay. The cottage The guest cottage has one room (16m2). It has electricity, a pre-made bed (132cm wide), a dining table, a kitchenette, a refrigerator, an open fireplace, and a traditional wood-heated sauna. Lake water is used as a washing water. Drinking water is available in the separate canisters. The kitchenette has a wood-heated stove and an electrical plate. There is a campfire place in the yard. Sauna stove and water tank are heated with wood. There is a dry toilet on the island. Arrival It is also easy to come to Orivesi by train. It takes less than half an hour from Tampere, about an hour from Jyväskylä and about two hours from Helsinki. You can order a taxi to Orivesi train station. The journey from the railway station to the waterside is only 11 km and I’ll meet you there. We'll go to the island by rowing boat together. The rowing distance is only 600 meters. If you come by car you can park your car at the meeting point. Support and assistance on the island, instructions and rules: I'll be on the island during your visit, and I can row the boat trips and help with the sauna heating if you'd like. And if you want, we can cook together. The island is my childhood summer home and a place I love. I've wanted to keep the cottage's original 60s and 70s feel and decor. On the island we respect nature and spend a peaceful time. Smoking is prohibited on the island.
