MarshMellow cabin in nature - creek tub fire beach

Experience the magic of a tiny cabin set amongst a grove of gum trees beside a creek around the bend from an isolated beach in a little-known corner of Tasmania. Everything is tiny, but guests tell us it has everything you need... including some luxurious touches like European linen. Expect birdsongs, the tidal rising and falling of the creek, sea breezes, moonrises, smoky clothes, salty skin, starlight. Proud finalists in the 2025 Airbnb Host Awards - Best Nature Stay The space Just 45 minutes from nipaluna/Hobart, 30 minutes from the airport, and on the edge of the Tasman Peninsular. MarshMellow is compactness defined: a kitchenette, lounging/dining space, bathroom with shower and a loft bedroom accessed by a ladder. We provide pantry staples - coffee, teas, hot chocolate, milk, olive oil, S&P, spices, condiments and toasting marshmallows. Outside is a deck with an outdoor bath, a bbq and room for yoga (mats provided). The fire pit has a wood pile. On the creek bank, only a few meters away, you will find a picnic table and chairs. Two sit-on kayaks are lying on the bank. Launch from there. Paddle downstream and you will soon reach the sea. We are trying to live sustainably; rewilding our land and nurturing an extensive vegetable garden, chickens and bee hives. We have 2 small dogs that roam free. They may come to greet guests. The property has important biodiversity values and has 'Land for Wildlife' accreditation from the Tasmanian Land Conservancy. From the taps comes our rainwater. There is a full-sized shower and a waterless, composting toilet. Your pet dog can accompany you, but although the property is large (3 hectares), it is not fully fenced. Please let us know if you're bringing your pooch. Guest access The key to the MarshMellow will be in the door when you arrive. The beach is just across the road. A map in the house guide shows the pathway. You can’t miss it. Marshmellow is close to award-winning vineyards, distilleries, beaches, regional restaurants and the Tasman Peninsula's famous 3 Capes hiking track and the world heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site. The site is level and parking is available at your door, but the bedroom loft requires climbing a ladder. Other things to note Stock up on the way at Sorell or the excellent IGA/Hill Street Store at Dodges Ferry (15 minutes away).
