Beautifully furnished 3 bedroomed detached house with private parking in a quiet but central location in Sedbergh & The Yorkshire Dales National Park Less than 20 miles from Windermere & The Lakes. Upstairs has a king 5' wide double bedroom, one twin bedroom. the family bathroom & an office that has a single fold out bed. The space Nestled at the foot of the Howgills, which Wainwright described as, 'a herd of sleeping elephants,' this recently renovated, and beautifully furnished quirky cottage stands in a quiet yard at the heart of Sedbergh in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and within easy reach of Windermere and The Lakes as well as the coastal AONB of Arnside and Silverdale. It has private parking for 2 cars. The house, which has been decorated throughout using Farrow and Ball paints, is entered via a heated boot room/cloakroom, which is perfect for drying muddy boots or wet coats. The lounge boasts a comfortable John Lewis Barbican suite along with additional seating as well as a log burner, smart TV, Bluetooth soundbar and Wi-Fi hub. A selection of games and toys are provided here and a convenient downstairs W.C. is located off this room. The gas central heating can also be adjusted via the hive thermostat in this area. Double doors lead from the lounge into a well-equipped kitchen dining room. The newly fitted kitchen is topped with quartz work surfaces and is equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, double oven, induction hob, Belfast sink and dishwasher. A toaster, kettle and cafetière are also supplied and a highchair is available on request. A hand painted dresser completes the look, and you will find both cow's milk and barista oat milk in your welcome pack. A lovely feature of this cottage is the downstairs double bedroom, accessed through the kitchen. It has an en-suite shower room with an electric rain down shower. It also features handmade interlined blackout curtains with a dainty William Morris print. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a 5' king sized bed with a luxury Harrison Spinks pocket sprung mattress and blackout blinds. There is also a twin room with quirky retro prints and handmade, interlined blackout curtains, a trundle bed is available on request, best suited to a child. The smallest room has been equipped as a dedicated workspace with desk, adjustable chair, lamp and monitor and has good Wi-Fi connection. Alternatively, this room can be set up as a nursery with a travel cot, or the above trundle bed, on request and there are blackout blinds at the window. A house bathroom with over bath shower completes the upstairs' accommodation and there are views to the fells from all upstairs bedrooms. Outside the rear of the property, a secure, enclosed patio garden, complete with picnic style table and benches, is accessed via French doors in the dining area. This is a sun trap and is perfect for peaceful al fresco breakfasts or BBQs (not supplied). There is also access via a locked side gate, behind which there is ample space to store bikes down the side of the property. A heated utility room with a washing machine and drying rack is accessed from the patio. There is private parking for two cars alongside Elephant House which is on a short cut de sac. Vehicular access is narrow at the entrance, but wide enough for a Land Rover Discovery to negotiate with the mirrors folded. Sedbergh is known as the book town of England; it also boasts an array of eateries including the Black Bull Inn which serves award winning food created by BBC acclaimed Nina Matsunaga and The Thirsty Rambler micro bar. There are walks to the fells from the doorstep of the house and National Cycle Network Route 68 goes almost past the door. Elephant House has been designed with extended families, walkers and those needing dedicated workspace in mind, but it is particularly suited to anyone who wishes to 'come sleep with the elephants.' Sweet dreams. Other things to note No hen or stag groups, or groups of persons under 25 yers of age.
