Château Gascon du 13e, renovated in 2024 to offer a historical and elegant immersion to our guests. It is now a haven of calm and tranquility. Erected at the top of a medieval village, it offers 6 bedrooms for 12/14 people, games room, winter & summer kitchen, shaded park, fire pit, 360° view, XL stone pool, summer cinema room, ping-pong table. And: a chivalrous dive for the youngest, with our themed room: "Les Chevaliers de la Table Longue". The space The "Château Gascogne", located in a dominant position on the heights of the medieval village of Saint Puy, was the former seat of a famous vineyard (founder of the Pousse -Rapière). It has since opened to guests for an ode to the elegance of the holidays in Gascony. Its 600m2 interior, indeed offer a very comfortable living space for 12/14 guests maximum. Configured on 2 levels, it offers 5 of the 6 bedrooms on the first floor, all with private bathrooms. As well as the interior living rooms, scattered around a wide central hallway. The last room is part of what is called, the "apartments on the ground floor". This is a private suite, attached to the summer kitchen, with private living room, office space, private dining area, and bathroom with shower and bathtub. On site, you will welcome the high ceilings, the period parquet floors in points of Hungary, the antique furniture, the panoramic scenery of the factory ©Zuber representing the great mythological scenes: the Port of Boston, the Niagara, views of America... Several living rooms are at your disposal: 1 comfort lounge with antique sofas, a dining room for 12/14 people, a games room with sofas, antique play tables, chess, a harpsichord in perfect condition and a fireplace. But also a winter bookstore with another fireplace. A turntable (collection of operas and classical music), TV and workstations and reading stations are also available in this room. The winter kitchen, located in front of the dining room, is fully equipped with gas stove @Falcon three ovens, full cookware, full table service for twenty people in decorated Spanish tile, refrigerator, dishwasher, countertop, small appliances, natural stone sink. Wifi is accessible throughout the Castle and the property is connected to fiber. Each room has its own private bathroom with shower and/or bathtub. Surprising bathrooms that would almost turn the moment of the shower into a real experience... The bedding is completely new with mattress pad, duvets, 2 pillows per person, bed sheets and towels. There are shutters in all the rooms and they all have a dominant view of the countryside. For children between 6 and 14 years old, the mezzanines of the rooms have been thought of as an adventure, with explorers' beds, electric storm bed lamps, observation binoculars, comics, mosquito bed sky and fans for the warm nights in the jungle! On the ground floor, guests have a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer, as well as another secondary kitchen that we use as a summer kitchen. This is a rustic kitchen, full of charm and fully equipped with fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, espresso coffee machine for ground coffee, a large central oak table and a period natural stone sink that we wanted to keep as is. It gives access to a 100m2 outdoor patio with fire pit for cooking, umbrella, table and garden chairs for the entire group. A perfect place for summer lunches and dinners "al fresco". In the Castle, the owner also prepared a THEMED room, the "long table knight room". Installed in the old winepress, with monumental fireplace. Wooden swords, shields, weapon masses, arches and arrows, helmets (All wood), are available for all small knights. LAST BUT NOT LEAST: The old stone cellars located in one of the castle's wings, every summer welcome a summer movie theater space with Chilean women, video projector, large screen and popcorn machines!! A ping pong table is also available in this area. Buildings built of natural stone on walls more than 60cm thick give the place an unmatched freshness during the hot summer days. Outside, the park is fully fenced and hosts the main courtyard of the Castle, partly shaded by the park's trees. The private pool is protected by stone walls and arranged in the old rainwater reserve, made of stones of the country, (Long 19m x width 6m X depth 1.50 m). It has on one side with a gently sloping water entrance for the little ones. Chilean girls are available around for idleness. In the extension of the perspective of one of the castle's porches, you also have exclusive access to the large esplanade of the Castle, a vast grassy area that dominates the village from its ramparts and opens to a panoramic view of almost 360°. In its background, a small oak wood gives access to the former Belvedere of the Castle. Although in a secluded location and without any vis-à-vis, guests can walk to all the amenities located at the bottom of the village (grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants...). And enjoy the charm of the life of a French village, while feeling like you are alone in the world in the Castle. For the comfort of our guests, we also offer a private concierge service, such as: breakfasts, room service, airport transfers, grocery delivery, delivery of catered meals, home chefs, private yoga classes, pilates... do not hesitate to consult us after your reservation. Guest access Guests have access to the whole property. Other things to note Although access to the pool is secured by gates equipped with digit padlocks, it is recommended that parents ensure that their young children do not approach the pool alone, nor the park and esplanade parapets that overlook 4m the foot of the castle It is forbidden to dive into the pool because of its modest depth (1.50 in the deepest part) Linens and towels are included (pool towels not provided). The beds are made on arrival. An intermediate cleaning of 3 hours is scheduled per week of rental, as well as a change of sheets beyond 2 weeks of rental. Despite the modern renovations infused into this Château Gascon and the care we take to satisfy the comfort of our guests, this family home is subject to a few whims. Some closet doors don't close, some locks either, floors can be uneven because they're full of history... But we like to believe that's a big part of its charm.
