Rural Escape near Bury St Edmunds

A relaxing escape just 20 minutes drive from Bury St Edmunds, Water Hall Lodge is a modern, single storey property surrounded by farmland in the rural Suffolk countryside. Tucked away at the end of a no through lane, the detached Lodge enjoys lovely views across open fields, a super king master bedroom and its own enclosed garden. The Lodge is ideally situated to explore the many attractions Suffolk and Norfolk have to offer as well as having countryside walks on the doorstep. The space The open plan living/dining area is spacious and light with a large 4 seater sofa and chair and a 4 seater dining table. The Lodge has WiFi, 40"TV and DVD with library. Guests are able to log in to their own Netflix, Prime and Disney accounts. There is also a large selection of board games for all of the family to enjoy. The kitchen includes an induction hob, a dishwasher, Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine and a microwave. It is very well equipped for all your cooking needs. I provide tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a few Americano coffee pods for the coffee machine. There is a washing machine and extra freezer space for the Lodge's private use situated in the garage next to the property. The master is a good-sized super king bedroom with its own walk-in wardrobe. There are blackout curtains, bedside tables with reading lamps, a dressing table with hairdryer and a chest of drawers. There is also plenty of space for a travel cot if required. The ensuite shower room has a dual shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. The second bedroom is a twin room with blackout curtains, a chest of drawers, a hairdryer and bedside tables with lamps. There are hangers on wall hooks in this room. The single beds can be pushed together to create a super king room if requested prior to arrival. The main bathroom has a shower in the bath with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. It is situated next to the twin bedroom. The fully enclosed garden has a private patio seating area, a few garden games, sun loungers and a charcoal bbq. Guests also have private access to the back of Water Hall to watch the sunsets over the open fields. There is plenty of parking on the large driveway for many cars. Guest access The owners live in the adjacent property (see listing back garden photo) We do however pride ourselves on making sure you feel like you have no neighbours unless you need us! All of Water Hall Lodge, including the garden, is private for the guests' use only. It is attached only to a garage where guests have access to the Lodge's washing machine and an extra freezer if needed. There is plenty of parking on the driveway and an Ohme Home Pro EV charger for use at a small extra cost. Other things to note As we are surrounded only by farmland, there are rare occasions when farmers and agricultural machinery are at work nearby. They tend to not pass right next to the Lodge or work into the night unless it is harvest time. There are 2 shops (A medium sized Co-op with fresh baked goods & a Mace) in the town of Elmswell, a 5 minute drive away. Elmswell also has a train station, post office, butchers, and many eateries/takeaways The village of Badwell Ash, also a 5 minute drive away, has a Budgens and a very popular pub and fish and chip shop! Bury-St-Edmunds has many parks and gardens, restaurants, and shopping as well as its beautiful cathedral, theatres, and nightlife. Norwich, Lavenham, Framlingham, Ipswich, Diss, Cambridge, and the stunning beaches of Suffolk and Norfolk are all within reach, as are National Trust sites and some lovely parks. Many days out for the kids (big and small!) are nearby, including soft plays, zoos, farms, Go Ape, kart racing, bowling, tobogganing, crazy golf, trampoline and theme parks. There is a guest book full of information and ideas of things to do waiting to help you plan your visit on your arrival at the Lodge. A highchair and a travel cot are available if requested.
