Description
Wise Pines is a Holistic & Sustainable Inn/Hiker Hostel that offers a unique farm experience. The property has 2 treehouses (for lodging) and a 12 person renovated barn with 2 private rooms and a bunkroom. Wise Pines sits on 40 acres of land, complete with walking/hiking trails and a pond to sit by and enjoy. The owners live on property with their dogs, ducks & chickens. The space All lodging accommodations are available on this listing, so your reservation would be the ONLY reservation at Wise Pines during your stay. (Both treehouses and The Barn can be found on separate listings.) Important to note about your farm stay: The duck and chicken fence is *LIVE*. The Barn: This two level renovated barn offers two private rooms, each with a queen sized bed, a bunk room of 8 beds (4 bunk beds) with a small seating area, and a large upper deck that looks over the property with views of wild sunsets. There is a bathroom with two private toilets and showers. There is a small kitchenette with a sink, microwave, toaster oven, 10.1 cubic fridge, and coffee maker. (There are 2 mini fridges in The Lodge and 1 in each treehouse as well) If you need more space than what our refrigerators can hold, please be prepared to bring your own cooler. Please note that the Wise Pine's office is a closed-off room in the barn with its own entrance in the back of the building. During your reservation, we may use the office, but our time in there would be minimal and we would ALWAYS enter from the back of the building and not enter your space unless requested or in the case of an emergency. The barn is a short walk from the 2 treehouses and is nearby the common building, the shared space for all guests to relax, eat, and attend studio events. The Treehouses: Each treehouse is one room and tucked lightly into the woods for a tranquil setting, not far from the other treehouse of its kind. The space includes a lush queen-sized bed, a table with bar stools, a dresser, mini fridge, water dispenser with glassware, and 4 large windows. Heat is available, so as to be enjoyed all year long. The bathroom and shower are located in the common building down a slightly steep gravel walking path (about 160 ft away). The Lodge: This is the common building at the bottom of the hill. There is a small kitchen that has a flat-top griddle, outdoor grill, microwave, toaster oven, pizza pizzaz, blender, coffee maker and electric kettle for you to use. The oven and stove can be used from 5am-9pm. To use you must turn the hood on. Enter the code provided in the kitchen by pressing- top right button (reset), top left (up), then bottom right (enter) 4x. Then the stove/oven can be used. It will automatically turn off after 2 hours of use. All ingredients in the kitchen are OFF LIMITS. Guest access The closest small town with main street storefronts of Woodstock is about a 5 minute drive. A personal vehicle is required to get around the area (preferably one with 4WD and, seasonally, all-season/snow tires as we do live on a winding dirt road and have a steep driveway). The town of Woodstock has paid street parking. Wise Pines is in a rural, wooded location. Please note, there is no parking near the Treehouses. The drive forks, stay to the right and follow the road to main office (entrance in the back of the barn-building with the red roof). Guests are able to check-in and unload their bags in the parking area, marked by signage, just BEFORE the office (300ft away). There is also another parking area right when the driveway forks on the way in, behind the garage, also marked by signage (2-minute walk/600ft away). Other things to note The owners live in a separate house on the property with dogs that roam freely. (They are friendly but may bark upon your arrival and come running quickly- they are just wanting to say hi even though it may seem otherwise!) The Wise Pine's check-in office is a closed-off room in the barn with its own entrance in the back of the building. Check in is at 2:00pm and check out is by 11:00am. Please let us know if you need exceptions made. We offer the following: Early Start: early check-in beginning at 12:00pm for $100. *Please be sure to check to see if an Early Start is available Please note that we do our best to maintain the property as weather arises, but the walkways, some of which are a bit steep, may be snowy, icy or otherwise. Please come prepared with a vehicle and shoes that are suited for the season of your arrival (mud, snow and ice) for both our property and the town road we live on. Checking in during daylight hours is advised. This tree house is dog friendly. We ask that all dogs be leashed when not within a building. There is a $25 pet fee per dog. Cats and other animals are PROHIBITED. Also note that there is a *LIVE* electric fence that surrounds our animals Laundry units are available in the lodge. Please prepare to bring your own detergent, if you should need to use them or purchase some from our office. While our physical address is in Hartland, our mailing address and the address GPS will guide you to is Woodstock.
