It is located in the northernmost part of Ehime Prefecture and is the largest island in the prefecture. It is known as the "Island of the Gods" where Oyamatsumi Shrine is located. Near Oyamagami Shrine in the center of the island, there are restaurants, souvenir shops, convenience stores, supermarkets, and Mare Gloria, a bath with a view of the sea with a salt bath using seawater.
