Second floor walk-up. Paid parking. The space This is one of 15 thoughtfully restored units in downtown Madison. The building is a 1929 Georgian Revival gem, recently renovated with care, featuring original woodwork, custom-designed rugs, handcrafted headboards, and often local art. On the first floor is an oyster bar; just steps beyond are James Beard–winning restaurants, walkable lakefront paths, and the Capitol Square. We’re Julia and Kristopher-your hosts, renovators, and the husband-and-wife team behind Voyageur Stays. We live just a few minute walk away with our 8-year-old son and are always nearby if you need anything. What started as a side project in our own home has grown into a boutique design-focused hospitality company rooted in community, comfort, and craftsmanship. We love welcoming guests into spaces that feel personal, warm, and well-loved. Please note before booking: Staying in the heart of the city means: -City sounds like garbage trucks (sometimes coming early morning) -Paid parking is available a short walk away at the Wilson Street Ramp (There’s NO on-site parking but paid parking is available a 3-5 minute short walk away at Wilson Street Garage. The city charges between $8-$22 per day 24/7 (less on weekends). Staying in a historic building means: -Second-floor walk-up (no elevator) -Radiator heat (recently updated) and window AC units. Heat is provided by a central radiator system that cycles automatically based on the building thermostat, so room temperatures are not on-demand or individually controlled. Many residents in the building stay a month or longer, so we especially appreciate guests who are respectful of others working and resting nearby. We’re always happy to offer tips, assistance, or anything that helps you feel at home during your stay. Guest access You’ll receive a building access code and a separate unit code prior to check-in. Other things to note This building is home to both short- and long-term residents, so we ask all guests to help us maintain a peaceful environment. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM, and we appreciate your help in keeping shared spaces and hallways respectful and serene. Pet-Friendly Policy We’re happy to welcome one well-behaved dog per reservation for a $50 one-time fee per stay to cover extra cleaning. Please avoid leaving your dog alone if they bark. Guests are responsible for any damage or excessive noise. There is no elevator in the building. Kindly let us know in advance if you’re bringing a dog. Sorry, no cats, to help protect our furnishings and support allergy-sensitive guests.
