Description

Welcome back to St.Joseph Farm. We are now OPEN for the 2026 season . Experience a unique farm stay. Enjoy your morning tea in our circular gardens and visit the farm stand, spend some time with the animals or take a walk down our forest path to where the tidal Sissiboo River meets the sea. Feel free to use our space as a home base for all your tourism needs. Sandy beaches, lighthouses, whale watching and seafood await. The space We are Aaron and Meredith McKinley, and we are passionate about growing organic food for our family and guests. The farm stand is available for guests to purchase seasonal vegetables, eggs, homemade herbal products, and our farm raised pork, upon request. -This is a small hobby farm and you probably will see us from time to time, tending to the animals and gardens, but we want you to know we value your privacy. -Your space is all one level and attached to our farmhouse but is a completely separate unit, so again your privacy is important to us. -You have your own private entrance and parking space. -Large cozy bedroom that sleeps 4 comfortably, including queen bed and pull out couch bed, with bathroom attached, and also a wood burning stove for those cool nights. -The other main room is open concept with full kitchen and living room, with French doors leading to a private back deck with barbecue, and fire pit. Wood available to be purchased. -Large shower room -Wifi is not available but we have excellent cell coverage. -A television , along with the ability to attach a phone, tablet, or laptop in order to stream video. Our local village of Weymouth is only 5 min away and has all your basic needs such as gas, laundry, pharmacy, grocery and hardware stores . -Learn about the rich history of the area when you visit the Sissiboo Landing, in Weymouth. They carry local handmade products, and provide tourist information. -Our farm is only 7 min away from Belliveaus Cove, situated on the beautiful St. Marys Bay. The cove experiences big tides that have a amazing 28ft range, when the tide is out the cove is a popular spot for clamming. A five km hiking trail right on the ocean, is there to be discovered. Here you will also find a local craft/food market every Saturday, all summer long, plus lobster dinners and live Acadian music on Friday nights. -45 mins to Annaoplis Royal, the cradle of our nation, visit Fort Anne, the historic gardens, or just walk the downtown for cafes, shops and the ever popular Saturday Market for local handmade products and food. -45 mins to Yarmouth, visit Cape Forchu lighthouse or the downtown core for local colours, fishing boats and seafood. - 1 hour to Kejimkujik (National Park) for camping, paddling rentals and hikes. - 30 mins to Digby, the scallop capital of the world. - 30 mins to Mavillette Beach (Provincial Park) with 1.5 km of sandy beaches at low tide -30 mins to Bear River, the town on stilts, for local wineries, cafes and beautiful artist studios . Or take a day trip down the Digby Neck, and schedule a whale watching tour, some of the best in Canada! We are situated in a very unique area, full of rich history rooted in the traditions of the Mi'Kmaq, Acadian and African Canadian peoples. And if you are tired of all the tourist stuff just relax, on the farm and enjoy the gardens, visit the animals, or walk down the forest path to where the river meets the sea. At night enjoy sitting on your private deck under the stars, or by the fire and listen for the owls .
