Porto da Barra beach, where all the action is

Right by Salvador's best beach and liveliest area, restaurants, shopping mall, public transport, and city center. You just come out of the building and you're on Porto da Barra beach. Freshly painted in May 2023, our place is good for couples, singles, families. 300Mb fibre internet. With 2 double bedrooms, ideal for 4 people + optional 2 single airbeds. NOTE that we do charge separately the electricity bill for your stay (more details below) and there is no sea view meaning it is much quieter. The space Perfect for anyone who loves the beach! This airy, recently renovated apartment is literally just a few steps from Porto da Barra beach, one of the most beautiful and LIVELIEST beaches in Brazil! Located in a secure building in a neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, bars, and local flavor, this is also the starting point for the Carnaval route, so if you come in February, get ready to have fun! Amenities include: -air conditioning in both bedrooms -Smart TV (great for YouTube, Netflix etc - we do not provide a Netflix account, you should have your own) with great fibre optic internet, perfect for digital nomads (home office) -WIFI (up to 300Mb) -bus stops and taxi stands nearby -equipped kitchen -supermarket around the corner -2 double beds, and air mattresses upon request -hot shower - washing machine (manual - tanque) -plenty of restaurants and bars nearby including the busiest nightspot in the whole Barra neighborhood Carnaval packages available. Get ready to have fun! This apartment does not have a sea view, it is at the back of the building which means that, even though you are just a few steps from the beach and the bars and restaurants, it is much much quieter so you can get more rest and sleep whenever you need it. About neighborhood: Barra is a neighborhood located in the southern zone of the city of Salvador, the capital of the Brazilian state of Bahia. Barra is one of the most traditional and one of the most popular area for tourists. Barra features shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, residences, green areas, events and historic monuments. PARKING: We do not offer parking for your car. There is some limited parking on the nearby streets (not on our street) but, since this is a very touristy area, it is not always possible to park for free. There is a paid car park, open 24 hours, in the Associação Atlética da Bahia which is a 4 minute walk. The cost is R$80 per day but this can be negotiated down to R$60 per day if you stay for several days (with the right to come in and out as you please - you need to negotiate directly with the people at the car park). Other things to note ELECTRICITY - Just a short note to say that we do charge the electricity bill for your stay - this is because some people like to leave the air conditioning on 24 hours a day and that makes the bill add up (can be 15 reals per day per air conditioning unit - there are 2 units in the apartment, in the 2 bedrooms - if you leave it on all the time). If you only use the aircon while you are in the room, the cost will be much lower. We will take a photo of the electricity meter when you check in and again when you leave and charge you locally in cash or via the Airbnb site. Most people are very energy conscious and turn off lights and aircon when they go out, so they end up paying very little, but just in case you want to leave your aircon on all the time, no problem, as long as you don't mind paying the bill for it. As of May 2023, the price per kWh is R$1.20. This is the price we have to pay to the energy company for each kWh you use, including the energy taxes (which we all know are very high in Brazil). STAIRS - the apartment is on the second floor (segundo andar), there is no elevator. NO EARLY CHECK-IN or LATE-CHECK-OUT - unfortunately, we do not offer this service automatically. If there is nobody renting the night before you arrive or the night after you leave, we can sometimes arrange an early check-in or late check-out but usually we will not know that until the day of your arrival, or possibly the day before. If you want to guarantee an early check-in or late check-out a long time in advance, then we can sometimes arrange this in advance but we usually charge 70% of the daily rate as we will have to then block that day to other potential guests. IMPORTANT! No check-in after midnight (00h) or before 6am (06h). We are not available to receive you during these times. If you are planning to arrive before midnight but you are late, your flight is delayed etc, you can inform us but we will not be able to receive you, you will have to wait in the airport or find another place until 6am. Sorry but we cannot stay up all night waiting for you. NO EXCEPTIONS!
