Description
Cobweb Cottage is a 17th century thatched, traditional Dorset cottage on the Jurassic Coast in the little town of Winfrith Newburgh. It has been a happy holiday home for over 20 years, and played host to couples, families and friends from all over the world. In 2023/4 it was beautifully renovated under my new ownership with two fresh bathrooms and kitchen, paint work and decoration alongside its original open fireplace, exposed brick and oak beams. The space Cobweb Cottage is ideally located for all of Dorset’s must see attractions, just a short drive from the stunning Jurassic Coastline, Tyneham Ghost Village, Corfe Castle and the towns of Weymouth and Swanage. The property is accessed by a side gate on the street to the rear, you enter into an enclosed garden complete with benches, BBQ and a seating area. Cobweb was originally two workers’ cottages and still has both of the original staircases, children especially love how this means you can meet in the middle anywhere in the house! The cottage was voted 9th coolest cottage in Britain in the Sunday times in 2009 and after careful renovations still keeps this charm and uniqueness. Guest access Guests have exclusive access of the full cottage and garden. Other things to note The staircases are steep and spiralled, requiring some care and agility - please consider this before booking and I am happy to send more information and videos of them if needed. Bunk beds are wider than average, so comfortable for adults also. Please be aware that due to their custom nature, the top bunk is quite high up. Well behaved, mature dogs are welcome but only downstairs and never left alone in the property. There is an extra cleaning charge per dog so please let me know how many will be in the property. There are specific washable blankets that can be placed in case of muddy paws! The cottage is in a lovely town but this does mean on street parking, I have never had a problem with this and you can also park at the church just a couple of minutes walk away. If you would like to see some behind the scenes of the renovations and local area please find me on Insta at cobwebcottagedorset
