Guest access Aside from your upstairs attic suite, you can enjoy the full living room downstairs (possibly shared with other guests), with sink-in couches and comfortable reading seats in front of the brick fireplace and working gas fire overlooking the woods; and in the morning you can step out onto the front porch or private back patio to see the Southern Illinois birds and wildlife in action. A hearty home-made breakfast is served daily in the Tea Room, where there's also a fridge for your personal snacks, a hot water urn, a Nespresso coffee machine, tea, and a hand-washing sink. In the cooler months, you'll enjoy the warmth and aroma of the wood stove while it heats up home-made soup suppers. Despite its typically attic low ceilings (you must ideally be under 5'8"!), your suite is spacious and quiet with stunning views; only the main kitchen and downstairs guest rooms and bathroom are off limits. During your stay The host is usually available during daylight hours, and by text between 8-10PM. If there is a true emergency please call 911 and notify the host immediately. There is a note pad on the desk to the left of the front door, which is always a good place to leave or find a note from the host. Other things to note * It's extremely important to understand that animals are not allowed to be brought onto the property for any reason, no exceptions. We're great animal lovers but allergies are a serious issue. You will however likely meet the neighbor's friendly dog, though if for any reason you're rather not meet him, do let us know and his owner will bring him inside his home.
