Stay exclusively in a privately held Scottish castle just 12 miles from the centre of Edinburgh and 8 miles from Edinburgh Airport. Guests have exclusive use of the property during their stay including the grand dining room private cinema and our own traditional Scottish pub within the castle The space The Castle forms part of the privately held Ormiston estate, a historic Scottish property quietly stewarded and offered by request for a limited number of residential stays each year. Located just twelve miles from Edinburgh’s city centre, with mainline rail connections within walking distance and easy access to Edinburgh Airport, the residence offers rare privacy without isolation. Though well connected, it remains nestled within its own secure countryside setting. Sleeping up to ten guests across five individually designed suites, The Wee Castle combines architectural character with thoughtful modern comfort. Interiors are carefully furnished; fine linens, quality toiletries, robes and discreet in-house technology ensure ease without intrusion. Within the residence, guests may gather in the grand dining room, enjoy private screenings in the cinema room, or descend to the traditional Scottish pub set within the castle walls. Evenings are often spent beside open fires; mornings begin quietly overlooking lawns and gardens. The estate sits amidst renowned Scottish golf courses — fifteen within a thirty-minute drive — and provides an exceptional base for golfing retreats, family gatherings or celebratory occasions. Tennis courts, surrounding woodlands and natural wildlife enhance the sense of space and seclusion. Award-winning gastro pubs lie nearby, while Edinburgh’s historic Old Town remains close enough for exploration before returning to calm. A stay at The Wee Castle is not simply accommodation, but temporary residence within a Scottish estate defined by history, privacy and continuity. Guest access Guests will have access to the Castle from 3pm on the day of arrival or any other time as agreed . Leaving is approx 11am on the day of departure and will have exclusive use of this luxury property. Other things to note We have a strict, No smoking policy within the property, with exception of the pub outdoor space . Smoking is allowed outside. There are smoke detectors throughout the house. Pets are allowed on request as the Castle has its own bespoke private not open to the public dog / facility 500m from the main house. We also operate a dog sitting and walking service by our experienced animal handlers at an extra cost . We strictly do not allow dogs in the main house unless guide dogs.
