Cabin #2 at Wilderness Lodge
Description
**PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION FOR THIS PROPERTY** Welcome to Akehurst Lake! This app does not recognize our actual location so please check on your map before booking. This is Cabin #2- It has one queen bed, one single bed, and a cute wood dining table. There is a wood stove for heat and a small propane stove for cooking. The main kitchen at the day lodge is just steps away! This cabin is in close proximity to the ** shared outhouse** and central firepit. The space This is an old fishing resort hand-built in the 1960's. We are not able to be there much of the time and there is no on-site caretaker. It is remote and it is rustic, but the cabins are cozy, dry and safe! **The property is NOT accessible by vehicle. It is accessible by ATV (bring your own or rent one in Kamloops) or by an easy 10 minute walk. *The road is only maintained halfway in winter, so access is limited to snowmobiles only - usually November to April* Please inquire if you would need assistance. If we plan to be there, we can help.** Each cabin has a private deck with plenty of room for your BBQ or camp stove, but there is also the day-lodge just a stone's throw away which has a shared kitchen area with a large propane range, small propane fridge, a BBQ, and a dining area that seats 10. *The fridge is small so we encourage guests to be prepared with a cooler for food if there are many guests. Longer stays/guests from afar should get fridge priority. There is a spacious common fire-pit and plenty of wood. Please be mindful of the surrounding area and weather when burning, and be sure to put the fire out at night or when leaving. We have a few boats with motors and gas available for guests' use at an additional charge of $50/day. You are welcome to bring your own boat, but you are responsible for getting it down the trail to the resort from the parking area. Our utility trailer is available if needed. Wood-fired sauna is available as well. Please message us for more info! Guest access Guests will have their private cabin for sleeping. All guests share the outhouse (toilet) and the day lodge. There is also a central firepit with plenty of wood available. Other things to note **Packing List** - Bags to take your garbage out in - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. Ask if more are available before arrival) - Towel/face cloth - Dish cloth & Dish towels - Paper towel/napkins - Toilet rolls - Lighter for fires (if applicable). Ours tend to all go missing or stop working - Flashlight - Drinking water - Cooler & ice You are welcome to create your own outdoor kitchen at your cabin, but we do ask you to be mindful of removing items from the day lodge that those using the kitchen might be counting on. ***We cannot stress this enough**: This is very remote. It is truly another world up there and we cannot be there at all times so it is a good idea to have some knowledge and experience in off-grid/backcountry living! Lights are made possible by a gas generator that may be used in the evening. Please do not run it all night. There are instructions inside the generator hut. We have several cabins at the resort. Please inquire if you have a larger group and we will help make arrangements. Registration Details Provincial registration number: Exempt
