Tranquil designer’s retreat in leafy Forest Hill
Description
We’re opening the doors to our very special home. A 5 minute walk to Forest Hill station (direct trains to Whitechapel, London Bridge, Victoria, Crystal Palace, and Canada Water), the house is nestled down a quiet cul-de-sac with a private field lined with apple trees. Recently renovated in 2021, it features a design-focused, modern aesthetic. Large windows fill each room with natural light and green views. With a garden at the front and back and next to the Horniman, it really is a green oasis. The space This is our family home which we take a lot of pride in. We have lovingly renovated it over the past three years and much of what you see around the house has been made and designed by us. Ground floor The ground floor features a spacious open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area. Large windows at the front and back of the house offer views of both gardens and bring the outside in. Amenities include a flat-screen TV, underfloor heating, and a wood-burning stove for the colder months. Modern appliances include Bosch oven and fridge, Quooker hot water, Bora induction hob and Aarke sparkling water machine. Designer lighting includes Polsen pendant lights and a Santa and Cole floor standing lamp which create a warm glow at night - we are big on lighting! The kitchen table is crafted by my father out of a single piece of cherry wood. First floor 1 x double room with super king bed and Tempur zip link foam mattress. One side of the room is taken up entirely by a large window which you can watch the sunrise from bed. This is a very special view as all you can see is greenery and a church steeple, with no houses overlooking (a rarity in London!). This window has black out blinds. 1 x family bathroom with shower and bath. Underfloor heating in cold months. 1 x utility room with Bosch washing machine and tumble dryer and ample clothes hanging space. Second floor Loft style open plan double bedroom with a large integrated workspace for two people and ensuite walk in shower with underfloor heating in the cold months. Velux windows offer views of the South East skyline, and roof windows flood the room with natural light. Please note that while the other windows have blinds, the roof windows do not. Outside space As avid gardeners, we spend a lot of time creating our gardens. Both the front and back gardens are true green oases, featuring naturalistic planting with mature shrubs and a variety of scented plants including roses, honeysuckle, star jasmine, lavender, and rosemary. Each garden offers dining and seating areas, perfect for enjoying meals and reading a book in the lush, jungle-like setting. The spaces are designed to provide a serene and picturesque environment, and with no overlooking neighbours, you can't believe you're in London! We have a dedicated parking space for 1 vehicle.
