Local artist's family home

Your family will be close to everything when you stay at our centrally-located island home. Vashon Island is only accessible by boat! Unique and exciting for some, It's a living lifestyle to be experienced at least once! I am a working artist on the island, and our spacious home is covered with my artwork. Come be immersed in art and nature as you go out and discover the dozens of beautiful trails and beaches and then comeback for an artful and cozy respite, no matter the weather. The space The house is an open floor plan. Bedrooms are located on one side of the house away from kitchen and living room. Also, the house comes with a cat! She is an indoor/outdoor cat and doesn't require any work except for letting her in or out when she is waiting by the door. Her food and water are automated and we do not ask guests to clean up after her in anyway. She is well behaved and not mean but does not like to be cuddled. She keeps mostly to herself. Other things to note Our Northend boat is a 20 min. ride to West Seattle and our Southend boat is 10 min. to the Tacoma area. It is about 30 min. drive north and south between the two. You can see a little bit of the harbor from our house but the water is accessible at Jensen point, about 2 min. drive away and you can even rent kayaks and paddle boards at Vashon Adventures in town and they will put the water craft of your choosing into the water for you. Jensen point has a public boat ramp and beach, Vashon Adventure and is where the local rowing clubs store their boats. There is a large artist community here on the island as well. Twice a year in June and December there is a large organized studio tour to see all the artists' spaces, throughout the entire island! Usually with at least 20 participating artists. Very fun (and free) to attend. My main studio is on the north end of the island but at the house, we have a family studio in the garage. So the house is covered from head to toe with mine (mostly) and my kids' wonderful artwork.
