The house is an eco friendly off grid property running on solar energy based in the lovely village of Shade in Todmorden. It has a good sized garage and is split over 3 floors with the living area and kitchen on the second floor, 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms top floor and ground floor bedroom, toilet and garage. It is close to many local amenities with just a 10 minute walk to the town or a short bus ride away. Train stations available in Walsden or central Todmorden for great access links. The space We accept upto 4 guests with 2.5 bathrooms, 1 king size bed, 3 double beds. The house comprises of: Ground floor - Garage, Toilet and bedroom 4 with double bed, with an enclosed yard to the rear and parking for upto 3 vehicles on the driveway. First floor- Open plan fully equipped kitchen / dining and living space with bifold doors taking you onto the spacious balcony perfect for summer bbq’s surrounded by the Rochdale canal and the recently restored iconic Gauxholme railway viaduct, built over 180 years ago and designed by George Stephenson. Second floor - Master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom, house bathroom with bath, shower, toilet & basin, bedroom two with double bed and bedroom 3 with double bed. The house runs on solar energy and the water is via an on site bore hole. Even though off grid there are no restrictions to usage at the property but please be aware during our darker winter months some power may be required to be topped up by the backup generator which will emit some noise at times when required. Nestling between the valleys on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, Todmorden is home to Stoodley Pike, stunning Pennine vistas, a thriving market and amazing architecture. At the village of Walsden, George Stephenson's mighty Summit Tunnel thrusts through the Pennines and into Lancashire. Todmorden was home to many of the iconic scenes played out in the TV series Happy Valley. - Private parking, drive & garage - All bed linen, bath towels and tea towels provided - Hairdryer - Breakfast bar seating 4 people - Welcome Pack: tea, coffee, sugar - Kitchen essentials: dishwasher tablets, cloths, washing up liquid, bin bags, kitchen roll, baking foil, cling film, salt + pepper - Bathroom supplies: hand soap, toilet paper - Heating and hot water via gas central heating - Free Wi-Fi - Flat Screen smart TV in living area & 1 bedrooms - Fully equipped kitchen with toaster, stove top kettle, utensils, crockery, cutlery, glassware (champagne flutes, tumblers and wine and water glasses) food preparation (grater, jug, sieve, saucepans, etc). - Microwave - Dishwasher - Fridge Freezer - Washing Machine - Ironing board + iron - Vacuum cleaner - Safety equipment: fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide monitor, smoke alarm, First Aid kit. Due to the off grid power supply to the property it is not suitable for electric car charging. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate families with children under the age of 10 years old. This is due to the property being unsuitable/ unsafe for young children due to the safety hazards present in the property, the kitchen living area is on the second floor and open plan leaving the stairs down open without a gate, there is also an outdoor balcony which is a hazard for children. The property unfortunately is not baby proof. Other things to note Despite there being four large beds, the property accepts a maximum of 4 guests only, due to the off grid solar system running the property, it would not run efficiently with more guests. Due to the off grid power supply to the property it is not suitable for electric car charging. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate families with children under the age of 10 years old. This is due to the property being unsuitable/ unsafe for young children due to the safety hazards present in the property, the kitchen living area is on the second floor and open plan leaving the stairs down and up open without a gate, there is also an outdoor balcony which is a hazard for children.
