Located in Murray’s Run, Black Wattle is 15 mins from quaint historical village Laguna, and 25 mins from the hidden gem Wollombi. Sit back relax with breath taking views in your fully equipped cabin, with wi-fi, reverse air-con, gas stove/oven, a fully equipped kitchen, patio seating, gas BBQ and outdoor fire. Plus, access the stocked pantry 'til your heart's content. The space A private entrance leads guests to their new home just up the hill - a true hidden retreat. This property offers private parking right beside your accommodation. Black Wattle Hideaway, is set on a 100-acre property on the edge of the lower Hunter Valley region, amongst hobby farms. Every aspect of this home has been designed to provide guests with an inviting cosy and super warm home away from home. Hidden in a forest clearing surrounded by tall dense bushland, Black Wattle is an idyllic escape set amongst abundant wildlife and pristine natural surroundings with numerous vantage points within walking distance to view the valley. Black Wattle sleeps a maximum of 2 people comfortably. You'll find a fully equipped kitchen with appliances, cookware, utensils, tupperware, allowing you to prepare delicious meals during your stay. There is a cosy living area where you can relax and unwind after a day of exploration. Feel free to enjoy the provided entertainment options, such as games or streaming services on the Samsung projector. The bedroom is furnished with comfortable bedding, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Black Wattle guests can expect: ~ A fully equipped tiny home ~ Outdoor fire (for use only from April 26 til October 30) ~ Expansive deck with roaming views ~ Complete kitchen - Gas stove, electric oven, rangehood, full-size fridge & freezer, microwave ~ Coffee grinder & Coffee machine ~ Stove-top kettle ~ Cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, knife block, etc ~ Family-size Weber BBQ ~ Bathroom, with full-size, high-pressure shower. Plus double vanity and GHD hairdryer ~ Waterless composting toilet ~ Reverse-cycle aircon ~ Outdoor ceiling fan in alfresco patio ~ Large outdoor hammock ~ Extra bedding, towels and lined provided ~ Digital projector, for in-bed cinema experience We suggest you bring food/beverage supplies for your stay - especially mixers if you fancy making a cheeky cocktail! Please be courteous, the food provided is to be shared also with other guests. (i.e dozen eggs - please eat what's necessary - 3 or 4), you're welcome to some but please do not take it home with you (i.e butter). You can store/cook/reheat any meals in the kitchen. The nearest major supermarkets are over an hour away. There is a small general store in Wollombi at the Post Office, or you can grab some ready-made meals from the Providora in Laguna at The Trading Post. Enjoy picturesque views of rolling meadows, cows grazing, ducks foraging, and wallabies from dawn till dusk. Unwind with a glass of wine in the hammock or by the fire and surrender to the unknown. Enjoy! PLEASE NOTE: Our cabin is semi-off grid, please read all notes before booking as it may not be suited to everyone. Other things to note: - When driving to the cabin make sure you download Google Map's directions before you leave because the internet may be limited depending on your service provider. - The dirt road to the cabin is about 4.5km from the main road. The dirt road is maintained regularly and suitable for all cars. Please check flood warnings for the are as the valley is subject to road flooding. - You can park right beside the cabin or beside the existing farmhouse. If this is a problem, please contact us to assist prior to check-in. - We run on tank water, please be mindful of water consumption. We ask you take 2-minute showers - it’s important to use water responsibly. The tank water is treated. - There is Wifi on this parcel of land, however, at times the reception is limited! - There is a fully functioning bathroom in the cabin with a shower, double basin, and the toilet is compostable - please read the instructions, do not overfill with toilet paper. - Whilst we maintain a clean and tidy setting, we cannot eliminate pests and creepy crawlies. There can be snakes in summer and leeches when wet. A basic first aid kit is on-site in your bathroom. - It's easy to forage for kindling and branches around the cabin to get the fire pit started. Please make sure the fire has completely extinguished by separating the hot coals or pouring over water before departing. Guest access Located approximately 50 metres through the gate from the existing farm-house, guests are welcome to drive up to the cabin and park or leave their car near the gate and walk up. Black Wattle is surrounded by trees and scrub, offering guests privacy and a quiet space. Before proceeding your booking, guests should be mindful that this property relies on a waterless/compost toilet and is 4.5km down a dirt road. We rely on rain water and composting, ideally out guests share a nature loving, eco-friendly spirit. Please proceed to the property with caution (day or night) as you may see a vast array of wildlife crossing the road. Otherwise, You have the entire tiny home to yourself, enjoy! The home is on 100 acres, you are free to roam and explore the land. Other things to note * Enjoy the soothing afternoon sun on the deck with a cuppa or wine as it dips behind the ridge. * The main sliding door can be opened majority the way, feel free to enjoy the fresh air especially while snuggled in bed. * The awning is best left slightly extended around 30cm to block some morning glare if you're in bed and also a great help to keep shoes dry overnight from the heavy dew. * Watch for wallabies roaming in the paddock below from dawn till dusk. * As the nights cool, settle in beside the fire, maybe toast some marshmallows and enjoy the starry night sky - you can see the milky way! * Enjoy some games in a quiet space at the kitchen table or on deck - you can find them just on the shelf beside the front door. * Enjoy sleeping in comfort with the reverse cycle air-con or pop on an extra woollen blanket to feel extra comforted. PLEASE NOTE: + Black Wattle Hideaway is adults-only accommodation (no pets), todlers or small children. + There is no reception for Telstra or Vodafone in the area. + Fires are not permitted from November to early April - it is a legal offence. + Please do not access any other buildings on the property. + We recommend check-in before dark as it can be pitch black once sun-down.
