Ashley’s Shack is a peaceful countryside escape – but don’t expect perfect silence. The fields around us are alive with the sounds of nature: birds chattering from dawn, cockerels announcing the day whether you're ready or not, and the occasional pheasant crashing about like it owns the place. Depending on the season, you might hear lambs bleating, sheep grumbling, or cows giving their low, lazy commentary on life. Tractors rumble and farm machinery sometimes gets into full swing – especially at harvest time, when the combine harvesters sound like they mean business. We’re also not far from a road – great for quick trips to Totnes or Dartmouth, but you may hear the hum of passing traffic now and then. It’s rural, it’s real, and while it’s wonderfully tranquil, it’s very much alive. Guests may use our type 2 EV charger. The cost for doing so is 35p per kilowatt.
