The cottage backs to a lovely public footpath from which you can enjoy sweeping views to the sea from rolling green fields. Sandy beaches and coastal walks are minutes away (22 min drive to surf at Saunton Sands) and Barnstaple's Pannier Market & local eats are within walking distance. The space Lane’s End welcomes you through a cheery stable door opening into a lovely limestone ground floor with underfloor heating. The bespoke kitchen blends centuries of history with modern amenities, featuring a striking beamed ceiling, exposed brick and limewashed walls and slate worktops. Enjoy use of the integrated fridge, dishwasher, gas hob and oven, with a freezer and washer/dryer in the adjacent utility room. The kitchen is fully kitted out for self-catering, with thoughtful touches for meals in or packing a picnic for days out exploring Exmoor, quaint villages, or the coast. The luxurious bathroom has a walk-in rain shower with slate seat resting under a centuries-old beam. A shaving socket has been tucked inside the antique sink cabinet along with premium products for your use, while Egyptian cotton towels are kept cozy and warm on the heated towel rail. As you ascend to the first floor, the stairs tell a story of humble beginnings, now adorned with cheerful striped wool carpet and antique brass stair rods, alongside exposed brick walls. At the top of the stairs, the red barn door with local artwork is a playful nod to the previous residents of the Lane’s End Cottage. Unwind in the lovely bedroom, accented by exposed beams, soft dimmable lighting, and a peaceful view of soaring evergreen trees and rolling hills. The centerpiece king bed features a luxurious mattress with soft linens and premium pillows, with spa quality cotton dressing gowns at the ready. Across the landing, the spacious lounge features comfy sofas, interesting antiques, and a large flatscreen smart TV. The cozy reading nook is perfect for curling up with a good book or the space can be converted on request to two short single beds for children’s sleeping accommodation if required. Out front, your separate, south-facing garden is a haven for outdoor dining or just catching the sun. The slate tiled patio is complete with a cozy wooden arbor bench, dining table & chairs and barbecue grill. You can even peer down into history in the old farm’s well just outside your door. Guest access Lane’s End Cottage is attached to our historic farmhouse home but has its own separate entry door and gated front garden area. The entire cottage is for your private use.
