The 1 bedroom apartment is located on the vast the upper floor, accessed via the impressive cedar stairs leading to an expansive living area with French doors opening onto an arched veranda. The apartment is luxurious and the decor mixes contemporary with vintage and antique. The spa-like bathroom is a dream, the kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The space The bedroom features a luxurious queen bed with linen bedding, a writing desk and antique Indian full length mirror and a doorway to the terrace and three enormous triple windows with views across Gympie's historic CBD. The art filled lounge room features a plush linen couch, TV and sound system with high speed wifi and bluetooth streaming and an enormous antique Chinese elm dining table and three shuttered French doors opening on to the plant filled terrace which has extra seating and a table to sit at with a champagne to watch the setting sun. The spa-like luxe bathroom has a free standing bath, and seperate rain head shower with lovely guest amenities. The charming large kitchen has a kitchen dining table and a chef's oven, microwave, dishwasher and induction cooktop and equipped with chefs essentials and a tea/coffee station. The historic features of this heritage listed grand building have been preserved and lovingly restored from the soaring ceilings, the huge double sash windows, the hoop pine floor boards and original staircases at each end of the building. Old world meets contemporary comfort in this relaxed and welcoming luxury private penthouse accommodation for couples. Indulge in an urban retreat for an intimate escape and enjoy the soft lighting, moody, inky colour palette and comfortable eclectic decor. Guest access The upper floor apartment is accessed from the entrance hallway and up the original grand red cedar staircase. The front door with digital keypad lock, is located on the Channon Street side of the building (not suitable for disabled access). Please take care on the historic stairs. Other things to note The ground floor of the Old Post Office Building houses a contemporary art space ART POST Gallery (open Monday to Saturday) and the Chai Chai Tea House (open 8am till 1:30 Monday to Saturday). On your doorstep is Gympie’s historic CBD, walking distance to shops, pubs, cafés, the Regional Art Gallery, Australian Institute of Country Music, Memorial Park and Nelson Reserve. Hop in the car to SoMa SoMa Espresso & Bar for the best breakfast, brunch and lunch or try the Friday night Chef's Plate.
