Penguin Burrow boasts the unique feature of sharing the relaxing location with the curious Little Penguins the nearby town & house are named after. There are literally PENGUINS IN THE GARDEN for much of the year. The Penguins nest in their burrows in our hedges. It's the perfect central base for Penguin spotting and exploring all the North West has to offer. There is so much to see - from wild nature, gourmet trails & ancient rainforests , to stunning rural scenery, mountains & coastline. The space "Penguin Burrow" is a spacious oceanfront 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom art deco period home. The property overlooks the sapphire blue waters of Bass Strait. The house been recently renovated in a modern coastal style. It offers a fully equipped kitchen and laundry with convenient off-street parking. The main bedroom and living areas have relaxing coastal views. Outside is a patio overlooking the ocean and coastal bike/walking trail. The penguins for which the area is named literally sleep in the garden overnight. Guest access The entire house is available for complete private access for guests. Parking is on-site at the back of the house under a carport. There is also ample free parking directly in front of the house with room for a trailer, boat or caravan. There is a public carpark and boat ramp over the road from the house. You will have easy direct ocean access for your fishing boat, stand up paddle boards and kayaks. The trail known as the Shared Coastal Pathway is located directly in front of the house. This trail for walking, running and cycling will soon cover 85kms from Latrobe to Wynyard. "Penguin Burrow" is conveniently located approximately halfway between the start and end of the pathway so is the ideal location to explore the trail in both directions and use the house as your base. Less than 100 metres down the road is a well equipped convenience store/takeaway, and 100 metres in the other direction is a public bus stop. The direct exit to the Bass Highway is less than 1km away. It is an easy 15 minutes drive to Burnie city, 10 minutes to the large town of Ulverstone, 25 minutes to the city of Devonport. The house is 25 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania Terminal in Devonport, 30 minutes to both Burnie and Devonport Airports (Rex and Qantas flights) and 40 minutes to the famous white sand beach of Boat Harbour. The shops of Penguin town centre are an easy 2 minute drive or take a leisurely stroll or cycle on the shared coastal pathway to explore the specialty shops, weekly market or have a drink at the brewery.
