Other things to note Exploration of the property: Ashington Farm is a small working farm with gently rolling hills, grazing land and the North Para River meandering through it. While you're welcome to explore, please refrain from entering any locked gates, or any paddocks containing horses or cattle. This helps us ensure everyone's safety, as well as the tranquillity of the property. You may enter paddocks containing sheep (and remember to please leave gates as you find them eg if a gate is closed, please close it behind you). If in doubt about whether a paddock contains horses or cattle, please do not enter, or contact us to determine if the area you want to explore is safe. Water: There is no mains water at the farm, so we rely on beautiful filtered rainwater. South Australia’s climate can be unpredictable and harsh, so please treat our water with respect, take care, and use it responsibly. Laundry: Please note there are no laundry facilities, although there are laundromats in Tanunda and Nurioopta. The fire bowl: It is lovely sitting around the fire bowl during the cooler months and this will be set up for you to enjoy. Wood is provided for your convenience. Please note use is only permitted outside of the Mount Lofty Ranges Fire Danger Season, which is 1 December 2025 to 30 April 2026. Please ensure the fire bowl fire is totally extinguished before leaving the property, thank you. Of course, no fire is permitted on Total Fire Ban days. Children: Children are permitted however not recommended. Please note that we do not provide cots, high chairs or any equipment or supplies for babies or children. Pets: Well-behaved dogs may be allowed to stay by application; however, please note that The Loft Barossa is not securely fenced and that a farm contains hazards for city dogs. Any pet allowed must be fully supervised or kept on a leash, for its own safety and the wellbeing of the livestock and wildlife (we frequently see a small mob of beautiful kangaroos in the rear paddocks). Collingrove Hillclimb Speed Events: The Loft Barossa is located just a short distance, approximately two kilometres, from the Collingrove Hillclimb track. Hillclimb is an exciting car speed time trial event, where one car and driver drive over a defined uphill winding course, from a standing start, against the clock. Car enthusiasts are welcome to visit (for a small entry fee) to witness the diverse array of vehicles these gatherings draw. It is run by the Sporting Car Club of South Australia and has a rich history, dating back to 1952, and has hosted many notable events and drivers over the years. It's known for its picturesque setting, with the surrounding hills and countryside providing a beautiful backdrop to the racing action. If you're interested in motorsport, or just looking for a unique and exciting experience, Collingrove Hillclimb is worth checking out. Nevertheless, if you seek a peaceful and serene atmosphere without the occasional low buzz and sound of a car racing in the distance, we recommend skipping these dates for your stay at The Loft Barossa: November 2025 • SA Hillclimb Championship Finale: 16th November
