Ikhaya, a Charming Guest Suite in Montmorency

Cozy, clean and bright guest suite with old world charm. Attached to main house and has a private entrance once on the property. Has full bathroom, covered patio, and small kitchenette. The space is an ideal base for work, conferences, study or seeing loved ones. The suite is located only 1.5km away from local train station and shopping village. CBD is 20km by car and 43 min train ride. Montmorency is a vibrant community with shops, eateries, parks, and walking/ bike trails. We love living here. The space The main house and guest suite are separated by a door which is locked and access closed off when guests are using the suite. The space is private and we are quiet but because we share an internal wall, you will hear the quiet rumblings of us coming and going. Bedroom (size 3mx3m) A stylish little room with a comfortable queen size bed, quaint bedside tables, a built-in single wardrobe and a full length mirror. Further home comforts include a split system, ceiling fan and a smart TV (using own streaming accounts ). Our favorite thing about this room is the amazing view from your pillow through the beautiful sash window. Bathroom (size 3mx3m) Clean and bright with shower, bath, toilet and washing machine. Clean towels, shampoo and body wash provided. Our favorite thing about this room is that it is fresh, spacious and easy to use. Coffee/tea/breakfast station (size 2mx2.6m) This is a functional small, light and bright space with floor to ceiling windows. It has a table for 2 perfect for working or dining. The coffee/tea station has a microwave, bar fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, crockery, and cutlery. Note: this is not a full kitchen, it has a similar set up to a hotel room as it does not have a kitchen sink. We do provide a number of options to manage dishes that makes the stay comfortable. Our favorite thing about this space is the access to the spacious patio and full length views. The patio (size: 9mx3.5m) This is a large under cover area that guests have exclusive access to. It boasts an outdoor dining area and lounge. Our favorite thing about the patio is having our meals on the patio , rain, hail or shine. Its also a delightful space to work in. Guest access Guests have private access to Suite and patio. The entrance gate to the property is shared. Once through the gate guests will enter the Suite through another small gate along a wraparound patio. The garden and fire pit is a shared space that guests are welcome to explore. We love working and spending time in the garden so you may see us pitter potter pattering. During your stay We acknowledge that everyone enjoys different levels of interaction with their hosts when visiting an Airbnb guest suite. We live on the property so there are likely to be moments that we will bump into each other at the front gate or in the garden. We are pretty easy going so will leave any deeper more meaningful interaction up to the guest to initiate. We are available on our mobile phones for any emergencies. Other things to note Bentley is our family dog, he is a medium sized groodle. He is friendly and super enthusiastic. Marc or I will meet you on arrival to handover key and introduce you to Bentley. Bentley does not have access to the guest suite however you may run into him at the front gate and you will definitely see him running around in the garden.
