Description
Location Opened in May 2024. Located in the heart of Takayama's historic district, Makoto-ya Ojin is a stylish inn in 1-chome, Ojin-cho, Takayama City, where the good old Japanese landscape remains. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). Enjoy Takayama's history to the fullest in an excellent location. Built 145 years ago by a master craftsman from Hida, this building has been revived here by modern craftsmen. The house retains a glimpse of the good old days, with features such as a storehouse, mud walls, and a dirt floor. Please relax in the spacious 195 ㎡ space. *Winner of the 2024 Good Design Award The space 1st floor Entrance: Pass through the lattice doors to find an entrance with a good old Japanese atmosphere.
