The space This 2-bedroom / 1 bathroom features hardwood floors throughout with an open-concept kitchen / living room area. Within walking distance in charming "downtown" Andes is the world-class Diamond Hollow Books for the bibliophiles, as well as Streamside Yoga for those seeking inner peace. Enjoy local pubs and eateries: The Andes Hotel, Dragonfly Cafe, Wayside Cider, Weaver Hollow Brewery, and Dana's Place. Don't miss local art galleries, Clementine Vintage Clothing, and Sounds Good Record Store! And if you're seeking quieter moments in nature, head outside for a run, hike the rail trail and Palmer Hill, or listen to the stream passing in Ballantine Park (across from the post office). And if being a homebody feels right, check out the peace and quiet of the backyard at the cottage, which includes an outdoor table and fire pit for star-gazing and fireflies in the warmer months. For winter guests, you'll have easy access to nearby skiing in the vicinity. Guest access Guest have access to the whole house & yard. Other things to note For the passionate kitchen dwellers out there, dance while you cook with an easy-to-connect bluetooth speaker! Kitchen appliance garage includes: Vitamin blender, Cuisinart food processor, Aarke seltzer maker, rice cooker, and Omega juicer. The oversized kitchen island is perfectly open to accommodate cooking, dining, and general hanging out. The counter doubles as a great work or writing spot if you're like me, and just love soaking in the kitchen light from all sides. The space includes a well-appointed kitchen with All-Clad cookware, Fisher Paykel induction cooktop, fridge and freezer, convection oven, and dishwasher. Basically, anytime that I'm out of town and not cooking up delicious treats in my cozy Andes abode, I'm looking forward to the next time I'm able to return. Please note, there is not a microwave, or electric coffeemaker, however, there is a Chemex, burr grinder, and Caso electric milk steamer for an absolutely perfect cuppa. There's also an assortment of teas from local tea legend Tay Teas (Delhi, NY). The home has an excellent WiFi connection for your calls, text or work. Please note the town of Andes does not have cell phone service. Most locations downtown have WiFi as well. The living room area features a 42" Samsung Smart TV installed directly over the decorative fireplace. Yoga mats, meditation cushions, kettle bells, few small free weights. High speed internet. Primary bedroom is a calming space featuring a Design Within Reach queen bamboo mattress, linen bedsheets and duvet, feather and memory foam pillows, 36" Samsung Smart TV, a darling midcentury fold-down secretary desk for a tidy work-from-home space or postcard writing spot. Spacious closet with sliding door. Includes views of the valley and an old dairy barn. Most excellent sunsets. Guest room / library features a queen-sized bed with linen bedsheets and duvet; spacious closet with sliding door. Selection of books for your quiet exploration. Window faces back garden and gives access to beautiful sunrises. On-demand water heater makes it easy to enjoy a relaxing shower in the newly renovated bathroom that includes subway tile, walk-in shower with dual shower heads, and heated basalt tile floor. French glass doors open to outdoor dining area adjacent to kitchen in back yard. Cozy outdoor fire pit is surrounding by flower gardens in the warmer months. Wild blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries surround the yard (fruiting from July-September). Stargazing opportunities are plenty, offering awe-inspiring quiet moments to reconnect to self and loved ones. Basement includes a drive in garage with automatic door and access to the basement. Bosch washer and dryer and ping pong table for your laundering and playtime needs. Additionally, there is an adult-sized 3-speed bicycle for those hoping to scoot downtown.
