The space First floor: Open-plan kitchen and living room with seating for 10 around the dining table. Well-equipped Strai kitchen with two ovens and a kitchen island with extra fridge drawers. The cabin is equipped with an exclusive Jura E4 espresso machine with freshly ground beans, a separate milk frother, and a selection of Monin coffee syrups. Bring your favorite coffee beans and enjoy everything from espresso and black coffee to cappuccino, latte, and iced coffee – just like at a real coffee bar. Spacious entrance hall with a separate wardrobe. Large bathroom with toilet, rain shower, and sauna. Direct access to the terrace with a large, built-in hot tub. Separate laundry room with washing machine, dryer, drying rack, and central vacuum system. Both living rooms have a soundbar with a subwoofer. Connect through bluetooth or tv/Spotify though HDMI ARC. The cabin offers a 22 kW EV charger with a fixed Type 2 cable. Download the app Monta Charge for charging. Beds & comfort: All beds are from the Bohus Signature Collection, and there's a generous selection of duvets and pillows for a comfortable night’s sleep. Outdoor coziness: Several outdoor areas make summer evenings extra special: Espegard fire pit with benches – perfect for grilling, popcorn, and traditional Scandinavian “munker” (pancake balls). Solo Stove smokeless fire barrel with matching table – perfect for cozy evenings under the stars. Lotus Classic BBQ grill with accessories is also available for easy outdoor cooking. Bed linen and towels are not included, but can be rented for 300 NOK / 30 EUR per person. Please request in advance. Note: During high season (Christmas, New Year, winter break, and Easter), a minimum stay of 4 nights applies. Other things to note About the area Gautefall is located between Treungen and Drangedal, and the cabin sits at 580 meters above sea level. The area is known for it's beautiful, untouched nature and changing seasons. Spring, summer and autumn In the warmer months, Gautefall is a hidden gem for outdoor lovers. Hike through forests, across mountain plateaus, and up to scenic viewpoints like Himmelriket, Blekavarden, Lamgfjell and Skuggenatten. Bring your bike and explore gravel roads, scenic forest trails, and some of Norway’s finest off-road MTB routes. The UT app shows a wide range of hikes and cycling paths. Swim or fish in mountain lakes, enjoy outdoor meals on the terrace, or pick berries and mushrooms in the forest in late summer and autumn. Crisp air, golden leaves, and peaceful surroundings make fall especially magical. Tips for summer and fall Treungen–Åmli bike path: Family-friendly route along an old railway line. Jettegrytene in Haugsjåsund: Natural rock pools, perfect for swimming and exploring. Skuggenatten: A popular local hike with panoramic views – well worth the effort. Lake Nisser (30 min away): Great for a day trip with sandy beaches, boat rental and clear water for swimming. Local events and markets: In summer and early fall, you’ll often find small fairs, food markets and cultural happenings in Treungen and Drangedal. Outdoor coziness The cabin offers several outdoor options for cozy evenings and family fun. Gather around the Espegard fire pit with benches – perfect for grilling, making popcorn, or trying traditional “munker” (Scandinavian pancake balls) over the open flame. Enjoy the warmth of the smokeless Solo Stove firepit with its matching table, ideal for quiet evenings under the stars. For quick and easy barbecues, the Lotus Classic Grill with accessories is also available – perfect for outdoor meals on the terrace. Winter activities Gautefall Skisenter is open from Christmas to Easter and offers slopes for all levels. There's a beginner-friendly area with easy lifts and a ski school with professional instructors – ideal for kids and first-timers. Cross-country skiers can enjoy around 50 km of groomed trails. The Langemyr trail, located near the hotel, is flat and perfect for learning cross-country skiing. Trail updates are available via the Skisporet app or on Gautefall løypelag’s social media.
