Get away from the crowds and back to basics in this SIMPLE and COZY, OFF-GRID mountain hut–style dry cabin with stunning views. Tucked beside our off-grid home, this is a peaceful nature escape with limited power, no running water, and an outhouse. Heated by wood stove and supplied with seasonal water, it’s best for guests who enjoy simple living and an unplugged experience. The solar system is small and it is not possible to plug in your vehicle. In winter, our steep driveway requires 4x4. The space The cabin is located beside our main home on our homestead, 12 km north of Atlin on McDonald Lake Road. Beautiful views, peaceful and quiet, with easy access to hiking and biking routes. Sit back, relax, roast marshmallows, and enjoy the view around the outdoor firepit. Wake up and start the day with complimentary, fresh roasted coffee — roasted by us right here at the homestead! There is a selection of board games and books, and Wi-Fi is available. Enjoy the outdoors. Strap on snowshoes and explore private scenic trails right from the cabin, listening to the creek in the valley below and the wind whispering through the trees. Back to basics. The cabin is cozy and comfortable, and life here is happy and simple. Trips to the outhouse at night mean better chances of seeing the northern lights. Using blue jugs for water (October–May) is no biggie. Gravity-fed water is available at the tap from May–October. The solar system is limited and it is not possible to plug in your car. When there is snow on the ground, our driveway requires 4x4. Guest access Parking is available right by the cabin. Other things to note Mountain bikes, kayaks, and a canoe are available for rent. Enjoy private trails right from the cabin leading to a hidden waterfall and canyon. The cabin has running water from May–October. Due to freezing temperatures and frozen water lines, blue buckets are provided for water from October–May. When there is snow on the ground, our driveway requires 4x4 or all-wheel drive. Winter guests with 2WD are welcome to park at the top of the driveway and walk down (200 m). If you plan to bring children, please let us know in advance. Firewood is included with your stay. Dogs are welcome — please let us know if you are bringing one. Maximum 1 dog. Pet fee: $10 per reservation.
