Built in 2023. Our A-Frame style home is located on thirty acres of maple, pine and sassafras rising out of a blanket of ferns set in the Manistee National Forest. Over a mile of well maintained, hiker only, trail winds through the woods. Hosting only adults, this property was designed for romantic getaways. This peaceful setting is only a 20-minute drive to downtown Ludington & Lake Michigan, where you can find a nice meal, hit the beach or catch the S.S. Badger! The space Our fresh and clean kitchen is fit out with modern appliances and outside on the back deck is a propane grill. The kitchen is supplied with all the accoutrements needed to fashion a friendly meal. Eat together at the dining room table next to a wall of windows with the woods seemingly wishing to come in and dine with you or snack in solitude on one of the decks or balconies while taking in the stunning surroundings. Keep your duds clean with our excellent new washer & dryer. Both the main floor bedroom and loft have new flatscreen TV's which are connected to the Wifi. Currently, we have Hulu provided at the cabin for your viewing pleasure. The main floor and loft bedroom both have snug queen size beds. The spacious shower has wall and rainfall showerheads that can be used individually or together! Keep warm or cool with our mini-split HVAC, wall units both up and downstairs. If you wish the scent and feel of the forest during your stay, throw open the doors & windows for the cross breeze, plus the loft is decked out with ceiling fans. The property boasts of having over a mile of well-maintained private hiking trail. On the trail you will ramble across plenty of benches to take a load off, back woods firepits and camping spots, hammocks and disc golf baskets and plenty more if you wander enough. You will find a whole host of disc golf "scoobs", football, soccer ball, ect for your use at the A-Frame. Our property is situatued inside the Manistee National Forest and just miles away from the Pere Marquette River. The house is on a quiet residential street, not far off from US-10. Quick access to the main road but away from the traffic. Just minutes away, you have Walhalla River Access where you can launch your boat into the Pere Marquette River or just hang out along the bank, fishing or what not. A few smaller inland lakes are just miles away, including the picturesqe Hamlin Lake and of course, Lake Michigan is only twenty minutes away! If you came Up North to get into nature, whether you do it by foot or fuel, peddle or paddle, there are endless opportunities of adventures to be had. ORV, hiking and biking trails snake through the entire surrounding forest. The property has plenty of driveway and open area for parking, including a large field in the 'back 40' where you can set your boats and RV's. Other things to note When building our home we did so without any consideration of children. The idea behind this property is that it is also our vacation spot. That being stated, it will be rented to adults only. Care must be taken as the property is in the forest! Roots jut out, branches fall and there are many forms of wildlife in our woods. Tread carefully, take precautions and be prepared! First Aid kit available. If it looks like a reptile yet walks on two legs and exhibits curiously birdlike movements, then stay out of the tall grass! Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. You'll never walk alone. We have recently installed an alternating tread staircase inside the A! Mind the gaps. Use the outdoor staircase to get to the loft if this makes you feel uncomfortable. Newly installed water softener/ filtration system! No hunting on the property.
