The space Discover coastal Drigg and Eskmeals Dunes Nature Reserve (7 miles), home to nesting seabirds and sandy beach walks - 18th-century shipwreck timber washed up here in 2018. And explore Muncaster Castle and Gardens with its maze, playground, and cafe; meet birds of pretty and see spring bluebell displays. Head through the farm gate towards the gravelled drive and step inside the porch of this historic cottage. The timber-beamed hall leads through to the country-style living room with sumptuous furnishings, an original dresser with a date inscription and a charming wooden window seat. Settle into the cosy seating and stay warm with the heat from the open fire (a cast iron range). Enjoy family games, jigsaws and books or watch TV together.
