The Property & Community Catawba Meadows is an 11-acre property within a 100+ acre protected reserve. The dome is part of a small cluster of cabins and sits within a quiet, intentional community of nature lovers, educators, and retreat participants. You’ll have privacy at your space, with the option to explore shared trails and occasionally connect with others enjoying the land. Location 2 miles to downtown Marshall 14 miles to Asheville minutes from Pisgah National Forest A Stay That Gives Back Catawba Meadows is a family project rooted in care for land and community. Your stay supports environmental and education initiatives in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, including reforestation, mangrove regeneration, and women’s networks. HELENE UPDATE Our property was spared and remains fully operational, with all amenities available. We are donating 20% of proceeds to locally led recovery efforts supporting communities affected by Hurricane Helene. Guest access Guests have full access to the dome and its private outdoor space, including the hot tub, hammock, fire pit (with wood), and charcoal grill. You’re also welcome to enjoy the broader property, including walking trails and open natural spaces across our shared land. While the setting is peaceful and spacious, you may occasionally pass other guests or community members out exploring. Just steps from the dome, you’ll find a shared sauna and cold plunge available for guest use. We also offer mountain bikes and kayaks on a first-come, first-served basis for guests who’d like to explore further. Please note: outdoor activities and use of equipment are at your own discretion. Guests are responsible for their own safety and transportation. Other things to note Children are welcome. Please let us know if you’re traveling with children—we’re happy to prepare an extra air mattress for your stay. About the dome experience: The dome offers a unique blend of comfort and nature. While it includes heating, cozy bedding, and modern amenities, it is still a fabric structure, so you’ll feel more connected to outdoor temperatures than in a traditional home—especially in winter. We provide space heaters and plenty of blankets to keep you warm and comfortable, but we recommend packing layers and embracing the cozy, nature-forward experience. Adventure gear: Guests are welcome to use our inflatable kayaks and Cannondale mountain bikes on a first-come, first-served basis. Pets: Pets are not permitted in the dome due to the delicate interior materials. If you’re traveling with a pet, we invite you to check availability in our cabins, where pets are welcome.
