Description
There are five beautiful, authentic gites on our quiet, grand estate with 85 hectares of forest, a chapel and a (shared) swimming pool. "LA SONNERIE" is centrally located on the site (next to the 13th century tower) and has a cosy living room/kitchen, 1 large bedroom with a double bed and an extra single bed if requested, a bathroom and a terrace overlooking the valley. Sundays at Sablou are festive with artisans and shows. The space Our gites have rustic charm of a world bygone, and it sits in the beauty of our history and nature-filled domain. The swimming pool is shared with the other guests and you can sometimes enjoy events, such as every Sunday during the summer, concerts, meditations, and other nice surprises. Nature lovers can indulge themselves at Sablou. There are many walking and cycling routes directly from the domain and you can go canoeing and horse riding in the area. In addition to Montignac and Fanlac, there are medieval towns such as Sarlat, Le Bugue, Perigeux, Hautefort and les Eyzies, many castles and castles, plenty of markets, local activities and music around the area to enjoy. Please note: duvet covers and/or sheets and towel sets are not included. If desired, these can be rented for 25€ per set. Guest access The house is yours only during your stay. The rest of the domain is shared, including the large swimming pool. This house is also on the ground floor and relatively accessible for handicapped people, although there are pebbles to reach the house and also a very small step inside to the bedrooms. Other things to note Although you’ll feel immersed in nature, many of the Dordogne’s top attractions are just a short drive away. Discover medieval towns and prehistoric wonders like Montignac-Lascaux (5 km), Sarlat, Périgueux, Hautefort, Terrasson, Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, Le Bugue, Les Eyzies, and La Roque Saint-Christophe. These villages offer charming markets, castles, caves, traditional cuisine, and excellent local wines. In Montignac, you'll find all amenities: shops, restaurants, a supermarket, and more. Outdoor activities abound nearby—horse riding, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, cycling, golf, even paragliding—with peaceful nature waiting when you return. You don’t need to drive far to enjoy your stay: several scenic walks and bike rides start right at your door. The off-season is ideal for active holidays—spring and autumn are cooler for walking and cycling. In autumn, the surrounding forest is full of mushrooms. In winter, it’s even quieter, perfect for reading, meditating, and enjoying true stillness.
