Every house has a story, and the journey of the Storey Place begins in 1928 as my great-grandfather’s farmstead and family home. After a full remodel, we wrote a new chapter for this house . We added all the modern conveniences, maximized living space with an open floor plan and furnished with all new stainless-steel appliances, while at the same time preserved the charm of the home and restored original pieces like the home’s clawfoot tub, original hard-wood floors and shiplap walls. The space The house sits on seven quiet, peaceful acres with a back-porch view of our Christmas tree farm and vegetable garden, depending on the time of year. It is easily accessible from I-85 (less than 5 miles) and located 25 minutes from Athens, 50 minutes from Atlanta and within an hour drive of 9 beautiful Georgia state parks! There are many local excursions and boutique shopping in Jefferson, less than 3 minutes away. As a family heirloom, this beautifully renovated home is immaculate and meticulously maintained. The house is full of windows and natural light streaming in during the day and equipped with room darkening shades in the bedrooms for restful sleep. Enjoy sitting on the back porch. Observe the wildlife. Read by the fireplace. Or visit the u-pick blueberry farm next door, when in season. Your stay will include the following: - 2 full bathrooms o 1 shower and 1 clawfoot tub, 2 separate sink vanities o 1 shower/tub and 1 restored quarter-sawn oak dresser transitioned to a vanity with sink - A full kitchen, including all new, full-sized appliances (refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stove, dishwasher) coffee maker, toaster, 8 place settings, utensils, pots and pans, storage containers, coffee mugs, etc. - A full-size washer and dryer - 2 bedrooms o 1 King o 2 Twins (can be made into a second King for stays greater than 5 days) - Dining room with dining table and 4 chairs and antique buffet - Wireless internet - Smart TV - Front and back porch - Switch-operated fireplace - Fully stocked linens and towels - Ample parking - Pack & Play available for infants and toddlers. We can provide additional infant, toddler and children furniture and supplies when requested. The property is fully cleaned between each use. No smoking in or around the house. No pets allowed. Fees will be assessed for both smoking and pets. The house is NOT wheelchair or walker accessible. There are five stairs through the front porch and four through the back. Check out time is 11:00 AM. Check in time is 4:00 PM. We offer self-check in, via a keypad on the front door. We look forward to your stay with us! Guest access Guests have access to the home and surrounding 1.5 acre yard.
