Hidden in a century old pecan grove, sits this historical cottage in the heart of East Austin. Only 3 miles from downtown and walking distance to wineries, art galleries and fine dining. You will be close enough to the action while enjoying the seclusion of our (mostly) quiet neighborhood. The space The space Just through the gate, hidden in the back of the lot you will find the main house. To the left of the big house is the cutest little cottage you ever did see, this is where you will be staying. There's also an RV and a shed on the property which are used by your hosts. Inside this small (400 sq ft) yet spacious cottage you will find everything you need to live comfortably. There are hardwood floors throughout, plenty of natural lighting and lots of charm. There's a fully stocked kitchen and laundry for you to use. The bedroom has queen size bed, lots of windows and ample closet space. The bathroom has a marble walk in shower, adorned with hand painted accent tiles. The grounds are home to neighborhood cats, our rescue dogs and some really cute possums. This isn't a place for someone with animal allergies. We spent the last 10 years gutting, restoring and decorating this once dilapidated estate. Your hosts, who live on the property, are a mother/daughter design team who love turning trash into treasure. We’re always working on projects in the yard. You may hear the sounds of construction, dogs barking and us talking to the yard kitties like babies. Guest access Our guests will have access to the fenced in yard which is over a quarter acre. There is a hammock and outdoor seating as well as a covered patio area (which we are still working on) Other things to note We’re addicted to decorating and rebuilding. You may have a new headboard or a new rug depending on our mood. We like to constantly level up the space. We’ll need 2 days notice for use of the projector. If excessive cleaning is needed after your stay you will be charged for the labor and materials. This includes moving furniture or taking down art. We reserve the right to charge a $50 fee if air conditioning is left on in the unit when the windows are open. Any and all biohazard waste and damage caused by such waste will be charged $1000.00. No exceptions. We reserve the right to have maintenance staff come into our home as needed, but you will always will be made aware. Check out is at 10 am. You will be charged $25 every half hour you stay passed this time. Even though we are huge animal lovers we do not allow pets. We don’t allow children ages 2-11 years of age. We do however allow infants up to 2 years and children 12 years and older. We are just not set up for younger kids. No Parties Absolutely no candles in the house. When you are not inside please turn off the lights and HVAC We do not allow unregistered guests to spend the night.
