Quiet country stay just off I-70 with a playground and no pet fee! We welcome you to our rehabbed 1906 guest house with modern comforts on 10 acre farm. Double bed, twin bed, couch, futon in loft. New tiled bathroom with rainfall shower & wand, kitchenette, coffee station, record, CD & cassette player, games, packnplay, iron & board, smart TV, back deck, goldfish in tank to feed, horses and cattle, and farm cats. PETS MUST BE KENNELED WHEN NOT PRESENT The space We may be available to accompany you to fish in our farm pond for an extra charge (bring your own tackle). We welcome friendly, well behaved dogs, but please ensure they are not left alone in the house. You can let them run a little outside if you are with them supervising. If you need to leave them in the house, THEY MUST BE KENNELED. Please make sure kids and pets do not scratch, hit, or damage the interior window inserts that help our little house achieve energy efficiency. We are 5 minutes from the venue Kansas Beach House, 7 minutes from Rolling Hills Zoo, 9 minutes from the charming Sandstone Saloon with frequent live music, 10 minutes from The Lumberyard Bar & Grill with a pool table, a jukebox, and frequent live music. For those nature lovers, we are only 15 minutes from Mushroom Rock state park or Kanopolis Lake with two sand beaches. If city life is your style, we are only 15 minutes from Salina with all the great restaurants you could desire, plus Salina Community Theater and the historic Steifel Theatre with some big name acts playing on the regular. Guest access You will have full access to guest house and all contents, with plenty of room for parking. You may walk or bike around property, including walking in shelter belt or down the road. You may pet horses through fence, but please do not enter horse pens or feed horses. Please do not enter barns or outbuildings. Do not attempt to pet cattle or buffalo for your own safety. Cats roam outdoors, but are not allowed inside. Our young visitors often enjoy playing with the kitties in the yard or exploring in the trees. There are goldfish in the horse tank right outside the back door and there will be fish food under the kitchen sink in case you would like to feed them (one handful per day). You may bring a well behaved dog, but please ensure you supervise it. If you must leave it alone it needs to be in a kennel. We have an outdoor kennel available for your use. You may see our two indoor dogs from time to time, but they are friendly and polite. Other things to note Be sure to check out our guest book on this app as there are lots of fun things to do in the area! The Little House is conveniently located a mile and a half from I-70 for the travelers. It is also just 12 minutes outside of Salina, population 46,000, with all the typical chain restaurants, plus several locally owned gems, coffee shops, shopping, Kenwood Cove water park, and the historic Steifel Theater, which has a full calendar of concerts from every music genre. Rolling Hills Zoo is just 7 miles away! The Sandstone Saloon is an upscale family friendly bar and grill 7 miles away in Brookville and they often have live music on Saturday nights. The Lumberyard is a hometown bar and grill 9 miles away in Tescott with great Mexican food, a pool table, and a jukebox, unless you hit a lucky night with some live music. Mushroom Rock State Park is just 18 miles away for the nature lovers and if you go just another 4 miles you will find Kanopolis Lake. Kanopolis is rich with hiking trails, Horse Thief Canyon, two sand beaches, multiple playgrounds, and a stocked fishing pond for kids.
