Cottage with fabulous view onto lake Yahuarcocha
Cottage with open design, suitable for couples. It is fully furnished, with a well equipped kitchen. Our guests are welcome to stroll in our garden with many fruits to enjoy. We live in a house next to the cottage and have 3 cats. Within a 5 minute walk, there is a bus stop with connections to town every 15 minutes Because of stairs in the cottage and from the bus stop to our house, the property is not suitable for people with walking problems We offer long term rentals for a negotiable discount The cottage is all open space. The only inside wall separates the bath room from the rest. The bedroom, with a queen sized bed, is placed in a loft. The guests have the full cottage with a covered sitting area outside to their use. We invite them to stroll thru our garden and sample fruits from our many trees. We are about one km from the village of Yahuarcocha, close enough to visit the promenade with dozens of restaurants and stands, but far enough not to be bothered by noise and traffic. The noise of the racetrack across the lake does not disturb our peaceful setting. Yahuarcocha and the surrounding mountains are well known for paragliding. Experienced pilots or even guests, who like to try it (tandem flights,) can let us know. We can provide them with the contact info of the probably most experienced pilot/guide in Ecuador. We offer a fenced in property with free parking. There is a bus stop a 5 minute walk away. The buses run from 7am until 7 pm, every 15 minutes to and from Ibarra. On Sundays only, there is a second bus run that stops right in front of our property and on the way to town, passes by the arc angel, a famous look out over town. There one has a great view over town, lake and the 2 Vulcans Imbabura and Cotacachi. Taxis into town run around $3.00 - $ 5.00, depending on the drop-off point. Our road we are located on is totally finished, smooth and great to drive or walk on. The road is called "La Portada" (on Google maps it is referred to as Via Olivo Alto) and leads from the center of Yahuarcocha to Olivo Alto and from there further up to the Arc Angel or back to the Panamericana.
