SeaWhisper@DeepBay is an absolute waterfront 2-bed character cedar cottage, overlooking Rocky Bay, with direct access to a secluded clear water beach, suitable for swimming. Centrally situated in Huon Valley, close to Cygnet and an easy drive to cross to the Bruny Islands. Relax next to the water surrounded by greenery, paddle with the provided kayaks, enjoy the amazing views and wild birds in complete peace. Free WIFI, Netflix, TV, Fireplace, modern kitchen, aircond. The space SeaWhisper@DeepBay is privately set at the edge of 6000m² of land, part of which is officially designated as a 'wetland' for a bird sanctuary, including nesting place for the endangered Swift Parrot. Various sea and colourful birds visit the property. As an absolute waterfront property, SeaWhisper offers direct access to a secluded beach (no direct public access). This charming cedar cottage, built in the mid-1960s, has been updated to accommodate modern living. The crystal-clear waters of the beach are just steps from the back of the house. You can relax and enjoy the stunning views and occasional seagull calls from your backyard, or walk around the coastline to take in the green surroundings and the gentle lapping of waves. Using the provided kayaks (please wear the supplied life jackets), you can paddle, swim, and explore the bay's clear waters. Seals and dolphins frequent the bay. The backyard has resident wallabies, pedemellons, possums, and plenty of native chickens (they have gone extinct in Mainland Australia). We also have resident wild black rabbits in the bush. The cottage features two bedrooms and can sleep up to 4 people (please refer to the bed configuration at the end of this page). The bathroom includes a shower, toilet, and laundry facilities. The modern kitchen is neat and well-equipped. Windows and outdoor decks facing the beach offer direct beach views. A small wooden shed next to the beach is perfect for afternoon tea. Ideal for a private getaway or holiday, while it can accommodate of to 4 persons, the cottage is most comfortable for a single person or a couple. The property has a strict no pets, no indoor smoking, and no party policy. We request guests not to wear shoes into the house. SeaWhisper is located on a safe, no-through road in a quiet neighborhood. This is a private location, and is *not* suitable for noisy gatherings/celebrations, or events involving frequent comings and goings or busy indoor/outdoor activities. Please inform us if you anticipate a social (non-business) visit from one or two people. Visits from close family members are welcome. This is a private residence (not a hotel), please be kind and be considerate. An outdoor security camera is attached at the front of the garage. The house is equipped with excellent air conditioning (heating and cooling), ensuring warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer. Fireplace can be used only if you are confident on how to use. Firewood is available at the back of the house (please don't use the firewood at the front). Kindlings are pick (up) your own, which is plenty around the property. Fire starter (e.g. samba) is bring/buy your own. Children need to be supervised as the property is close to the water and parts of it, including the adjacent dam, are not fenced. We have not personally encountered or seen snakes within the property, but all care should be taken when approaching the bush area. For local Tasmanians with a boat, there is a public boat ramp nearby— within 3-minute drive or a 10-minute walk away. The property offers ample parking space, including room for a caravan or mobile home. The provided kitchen amenities and toiletries are typically sufficient for a stay of up to one week. For longer stays, guests will need to replenish these supplies. This is reflected in the significant discount offered for stays of 7 days or more. AirBnB will email you the access PIN as well as the free wifi information at about 8.10 am local time on your check-in day. Don't forget to press the *lock symbol* after entering the numbers. If you don't received the PIN by 10am, please contact us. Your PIN will expire on the day that you leave. If you have updated your stay to include more night, please request a new pin. Please do not let third party and strangers (even those who claim to know the host) into the house. Please contact the owner/host if in doubt. Other things to note Due to safety and fire hazard being situated in the coastal region (which could be windy) and bush fire, as well as frequent changing fire permit, we do not have an outdoor bbq. Please do not light outdoor fire as fire permit might be required. Please also note that we provide milk powder and spray oil, if you require fresh milk or bottled oil, they are available at the nearby supermarket in Cygnet.
