Located in the historic market town of Penrith, off the M6 and within a 10 minute walk of the train station and a 5 minute walk to the town centre. 'The BASEment' is situated in the lower ground floor of an 18th century sandstone townhouse, believed to be one of the oldest houses in the town. Perfectly placed with easy access as a base from which to explore the Lake District (Ullswater is 10 minutes' drive), the Pennines and the Eden Valley. The Scottish Border is approximately 1 hour away. The space Metal steps lead down to the property entrance, making this unsuitable for people with mobility issues. Being a basement property, there are no views from the windows. However, the property is ideally located for exploring the stunning surrounding areas. The Eamont Way starts from the train station, a 10 minute walk away. The property comprises a lounge diner, kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom and is equipped with TV, DVDs, books and games for a relaxing evening after a busy day on the fells. We also have secure bike storage. Guest access Entire apartment as described. Other things to note Street parking with permit which needs to be filled out by 8am each day and returned at the end of the stay. Alternatively, smaller vehicles can park without a permit around the back of the house. We do consider accomodating babies and toddlers and have done so before. However, children which require more than a cot we are unable to accommodate for.
