SLEEPING Three cozy bedrooms invite you to relax: 👉 That Large Room: spacious, extra long bed (2.10 m), seating area, music option. 👉 Die Uitkyk: view of the Lambertuskerk, beds together or separate. 👉 Die Nest: a cozy attic room with an intimate atmosphere. Your bed is made with soft duvets and two fine pillows. All you have to do is land. Rate The basic rate is for 4 people and 2 bedrooms. * With 5 or 6 guests, we also open the third room, so that everyone has their own place. * Are you staying with 3 people and would you like three separate bedrooms? MIDWEEK FOCUS & CREATION From Monday to Thursday, the Smakenatelier is a place for entrepreneurs, culinary professionals and small teams. The large table lends itself to in-depth conversations and clear plans. The daylight, the tranquility and the private atmosphere give space to new ideas. SOLO RETREAT Sometimes you need space for yourself, to write, to reflect or to give direction to what has been in your life for a while. Here you will find comfort, good coffee and culinary addresses within easy reach. A home away from home. SMALL TEAMS With a maximum of 6 people, the loft is ideal for a hen day, strategy session or creative work period. A BUILDING WITH HISTORY This monumental building bears five centuries of stories of development and entrepreneurship. What began as a residential house became the Schoolhuys, where generations laid their foundation. Later, new functions followed: post office, café, workshop. Always a place where people gathered to build something. After a careful restoration, restaurant Gravin van Buren, awarded a Michelin star, settled here. An environment where craftsmanship grew and talent was given the space to flow to its own enterprise. Today, that energy lives on in the Smakenatelier. On the ground floor, space is created for new ideas. A training ground for chefs, hospitality professionals, teams, and entrepreneurs to shape their next step. At the long table, plans are shared and new directions are explored. At the top of the loft, space is created for focus, reflection and conversations that matter. You're not sleeping here alone. Are you in a revolution? Here you will find the space to land and grow further. Guest access You can enter the loft from 4 p.m. on the day of arrival. Do you arrive earlier? You can park your car in the parking lot in front of the door. A great time to get to know the Oranjestad Buren. Parking & accessibility * Free parking directly at the entrance. * Secure bicycle storage with charging point for e-bikes. * Coming by public transport? From NS Station Tiel or Culemborg, take line 46 and get off at bus stop "Plantsoen". From there, it's a five-minute walk. Other things to note * The loft is located in a quiet area, where you occasionally hear the carillon of Museum Buren & Oranje or the bells of the Lambertuskerk. * You will stay in a national monument with authentic beamed ceilings and doors – full of charm, but be careful if you are taller than 2.10 meters. * Due to the spiral staircase to the first floor, the loft is less suitable for people with mobility problems or for children under 10 years of age. Pets Pets are unfortunately not allowed, with the exception of assistance dogs. Checkout On the day of departure, you don't have to rush. Enjoy your breakfast in peace. We ask to have the loft available again around 11:00 a.m. for the next guests. Late check-out (after 12:00 p.m.) is possible on request. Let us know in time, and we'll see what we can arrange.
