The Big House

Nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty, our home is an ideal base for families to holiday together. With beds for 20 (+extra) & a large open plan kitchen/living area visitors can enjoy the comfort of our home & facilities. Extensive gardens have BBQ, fire pit, picnic area, pizza oven & fire-pit, plus grassy areas. Pool room, table tennis & additional bedroom in detached building. Large activity hall. Roe Valley Resort & Country Park, beaches & the mountains are all on our doorstep. The space 4 bedrooms accommodating 20 and up to 24 with 4 on fold out beds in the snug if required: Master Bedroom with ensuite- 5 bunk beds. Downstairs bedroom with a bunk bed, single bed with pull out trundle bed if required and accessible wet room ensuite. Suitable for wheelchair users. Downstairs bedroom with 2 bunk beds. Downstairs bathroom with large shower room. 2 extra toilet cubicles with sinks downstairs and a separate sink area. Cot bed available. High chair on request. Large kitchen with induction hob, coffee machine, American Fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher. Open living space with plenty of sofas and seating, large fire, TV, large table seating 12, smaller table seating 6. Breakfast bar seating 4. Snug room with fire, TV and sofas. (&4 fold away beds) Detached building beside the main house serves as 4th bedroom. This self contained unit has toilet and sink. Also houses the pool room and table tennis room. Large activity hall for basketball, pickleball, football, badminton etc. Children’s toys, books, board games. Use of the house, grounds, fire pit, pizza oven. Washing machine and tumble drier available if required. Guest access All of the house except upstairs offices on one side of the house which will be locked and the back kitchen which will also be locked. Other things to note Terms of Use The Big House has a Christian charitable purpose, with Christian convictions and beliefs. We seek to foster good relationships with all in our community, and would ask that this is reciprocated by external users on our premises. We need to have certain safeguards to our reputation, therefore: While using our premises all activity will need to be respectful of, and deferential to, our Christian ethos.* As such, The Big House reserves the right to: refuse or terminate any hiring of its premises where such hiring would be in conflict with The Big House’s charitable purpose or where the hiring would be at odds with our Christian ethos. The relevant sections of the Equality Act (Schedule 23, Part 2) can be found online. Please contact host for the link if you wish to check this out. *The Hirer shall not do or permit to be done on the Premises anything to injure the reputation of The Big House charity, their Premises. The Hirer shall not do or permit to be done on the Premises anything which is illegal or which may be or become a nuisance (whether actionable or not), annoyance, inconvenience or disturbance to the The Big House Charity or to any owner or occupier of neighbouring properties. This includes reflecting on amount of alcohol consumed, and by whom. The Hirer shall not display fix or attach to the Premises in any way (or elsewhere in the Building) any decoration, advertisement, flag, banner, placard, poster, sign, notice or other article without the prior written approval of The Big House, (with the exception of party decorations, attached in a non-marking manner).
